are you addicted to anything?

i think i'm addicted to spending money. i was feeling super guilty about spending another $1k in like less than a week and swore to myself that i would not spend another dime. but then because i was feeling so badly i decided to browse through asos just to make myself feel better and found a bag that i really liked and could not resist the urge to buy it so i did. i can't believe i didn't pay my school tuition to buy shoes and bags and frivolous shit.

i think i'm also addicted to ebay and tumblr and the internet in general. i go crazy without my fix.

i think i might also be addicted to ambien.

but yay i kicked my caffeine addiction?

i've never really known anyone who had any sympathy for the so called "shopping addiction" where girls waste ridiculous amounts of money on shit they don't need. you should return all the shit and find a cooler less bratty sounding addiction. maybe you can get addicted to adopting homeless dogs or feeding the poor or something. do you even wear all those shoes? you can only wear one pair of shoes at a time. i don't know why women want to buy like 10 pairs of shoes that all basically look the same...gah, women.

i'm addicted to mexican food and playing checkers.

i'm not looking for sympathy? i hate myself for spending all my money. i actually do end up returning a lot of the stuff that i'm able to return, but most of the things i get are on sale or clearance and non-returnable. it's just when i see something that's less than full price something in my head makes it almost painful for me to not buy it. idk, i've never been like this before. i'm usually really good at not shopping and saving money and whatever, it's just gotten out of hand in this past month. and shoes aren't the only things i buy. i blew $200 on art supplies, $100 on food and toys and shit for my dog this past month, and about $300 on electronics like a new external harddrive, etc. i don't need any of those things tbh, but shoes are the only things i regret.

and speaking of adopting homeless dogs, i am signed up to volunteer at the homeless shelter over the summer... so i'm not the complete shallow bitch you're making me sound like. :(

i'm not saying your looking for sympathy, i'm saying nobody is ever going to have any for an addiction that most people attribute to spoiled girls. maybe sympathy is the wrong word...not sympathy...just it's one of those addictions that 99% of people don't recognize as an "addiction" as much as just irresponsibility. if you feel bad about spending money, then why browse online stores? i don't get it i guess. i feel like you're too smart to be doing something like draining your bank account on frivolous shit. i know we're not bff or something but it doesn't seem like you to do that stuff. isn't it more painful to be broke than to not buy some shoes?

shallow bitches are who typically have this problem imo...that's my point, i don't think you're actually shallow and that's why it's hard to understand why you'd have this issue cause it doesn't seem like it'd be in your character.

i hope you can earn it back for your tuition.

yeah i'm not usually like this. it's only been going on for the past month or so honestly. it's been hard for me to control my impulses for some reason. maybe it's the medications i'm on, but that seems sort of like grabbing at thin air but i'm dying for an excuse to blame this on.

i'm working on a financial plan, though. i got my excel spreadsheet all planned out with what i'll be returning and what i'll be reselling because i can't return. hopefully this situation will get turned around soon.

Thankfully, I don't have an addiction to acquiring material objects. I'm addicted to shooting with the Canon Rebel XSi/450D my grandparents rewarded me with for my high midterm course grades, but I think it's good to have a hobby that allows me to get out of my dorm room, think artistically, learn on my own (and from others, but so far I've been shooting solo and just discussing photography with students in Ithaca's Park School of Communications), etc. My camera is pretty much an extension of my body because I always bring it with me so that it won't be stolen from my room, and so I can shoot around campus if I see something that looks nice or interesting. I'm also addicted to reading, and will hopefully be addicted to creative writing this summer.

I love to eat and drink (soft) beverages, haha. I had an eel roll, dragon roll, and agedashi tofu at dinner with some Asian Culture Club members today and omg, so good.

Do you work out? Otherwise you'll gain weight around from drinking beer that often. :\

Chocolate. I can never have enough chocolate.

That and social media. It's sad, but I don't think I can go a whole week without letting people know what's up on Facebook and/or Twitter.

I'm addicted to makeup. In reality I don't wear very much of it on a regular basis (or it's not very detectable), but I'm majorly obsessed. And recently, nail polish. Summer kinda does that to me.

And now for something non-superficial: THE UNIVERSE. Astronomy, especially cosmology. Anything to do with black holes, dark matter, dark energy, quantum physics, Einstein's theories of relativity...I have watched countless documentaries and read many books on the topic. I could sit and talk about astronomy for hours on end!

Addictions, hmmm. Probably power wanking. Used to be video games, probably going to be video games again soon. Those f*ckers save a lot of money. You spend a whole lot less when you're worried about a game. After I kicked that addiction in the past I started going out all the time and going to shows, going out to eat, going drinking, going out and doing illegal things, but that costs a lotttt :( Time to save money and focus on school + gaming!

Eating at restaurants. It doesn't matter where, as long as I don't make the food. And it's not even because I'm lazy anymore, I honestly just think I've gotten so used to it that it has become an addiction. I just like going out. I've had to seriously cut back lately because I'm financially in pretty bad shape, but it's hard to resist the urge to just run out and grab something before work rather than taking the time to prepare something that's considerably healthier AND less expensive.

I'm addicted to coffee, partly because of my french press. I'm on the mission to find the perfect blend of coffee beans, so I drink even more than I used to. I cut out sugar, so I don't put any cream or sugar in my coffee, which makes my search for the perfect cup even more important. I'm not going to lie to myself though - I'm totally addicted to coffee.

I've had an addiction to cookbooks for a long time. I've got shelves of them. This extends to hours upon hours of internet time looking at recipes, saving things to virtual cookbooks and planning out meals that I will more than likely never prepare.

Season 9 of Smallville. I watch these episodes every day, sometimes more than once. I have no idea what's going on with this. Maybe it's because Tom Welling is just really hot this year and I dig on the chemistry between him and Erica Durance (Lois).

WebMD occupies far too much of my time, but I can't help but spend roughly an hour or so a day cruising this site. I've watched countless slideshows and videos and learned far more than I ever thought I would (or should, really). One of my favorite articles.

Amazon deals and Blu-ray.com - Just dammit.

I like coffee, but I've managed not to become addicted (yet, my friend says) since I drink it more for the taste than the stimulating effect. I love Italian cappuccino and French vanilla, which I drink sometimes. I stopped putting sugar in mine just a few days ago, since it's healthier, but I still use half-and-half. My ex-boyfriend drinks his coffee black since he's the opposite of me in that he drinks it for the stimulation and not the taste. I've had black coffee a few times, but I prefer to put milk/nondairy creamer and sugar in it.

I'm going to learn how to cook and bake this summer! I've never baked anything myself before. I'll be living alone for the first two weeks of July since my mom is going to Hong Kong and Guangzhou without me (sadness, I haven't been there in eight years) and my brother should be away at sports camp. When I told my mom I wanted to use the kitchen, she said I better not burn the house down; not because she doesn't trust me, but because the people who live on the floor below us burn their food all the time.

You sound like my friend who introduced me to Castle, haha. He's re-watched both seasons at least two or three times each, and has seen certain episodes five times or more. :X I love the show, but not nearly as much as he does. I told him he needs to go to CC: Castle Curing, instead of to AA for alcohol...and I'm only partly joking. XD

I got Max (my Canon Rebel XSi) from Amazon. :3 I'll earn almost $6000 from my internship this summer, so I plan to spend about $1000 on a new laptop (my brother's is old and slow) and a new iPod. I don't really need anything else at the moment, and I'm a relatively unmaterialistic person.
