So today, while in school, I encountered a really strange feeling. I don't think it's emotional because I felt pretty okay today (emotion-wise) but my body was sort... numb. When I walked, my legs like started to stiffen up and I couldn't really keep my balance and then, I assume, I became hesitant and just couldn't walk straight. When I sat down in my first related arts class, I couldn't exactly concentrate and my jaw started to feel kind of numb too. I began to move my jaw up and down to see if something was wrong but I just felt like it was numb for some reason. I then started having some trouble breathing so I tried to regulate my breathing but it kept speeding up and then slowing down and etc. Then, I fell on the floor because I just couldn't stand up but I didn't feel any pain. My arms and legs then started to hurt in my next class and I had a few spasms. I'm not sure why, though.
Many people thought I was on drugs or something but I quit doing that shit a very long time ago. I don't recall at all taking any medicine or eating anything that could have caused such a condition. The stranger part is, however, is a few hours after I got home, I was finally functioning properly. I was like, "Haha, damn." I shrugged it off as a "no-biggie" and continued my day normally. Anyway, have you had any days or moments where you just felt and/or acted very strange? P.S. - I don't know if this should go in Health or not, but I decided to put it in The Lounge just so it'd get more attention or something. |

But yeah, I told my mom but she was like, "Oh, it's probably just puberty or something." I don't feel like that anymore so I don't really feel like going to a doctor (haha, that sounds stubborn). Weird flu? I'm not too sure about that. |

I doubt its puberty. Maybe low blood pressure? When you stand up...do you sometimes see confetti in your eyes? And who knows about the flu thing. They predicted another wave of swine flu to hit january-february.

Have you ever been evaluated for panic disorder? Episodes can occur without causation and include some of the symptoms you're describing.

Couldn't be. No feeling of anxiety or fear, although thats what I thought at first too. Probably just a lack of oxygen

True, but I've seen several cases of panic disorder where the patient had no signs or symptoms of having anything remotely related to anxiety.
Another possibility is orthostatic hypotension (along the lines of what Tomates said, low blood pressure related symptom). That and blood sugars. I would keep record of how many times this happens, should there be a recurrence. |

They predicted another wave of swine flu to hit january-february. No, I don't happen to have the confetti-in-my-eyes symptom. Might be low blood pressure, but last time I had my blood pressure taken (which was about a month ago), I had 117/77. Have you ever been evaluated for panic disorder? Episodes can occur without causation and include some of the symptoms you're describing. I used to have panic attacks? Probably just a lack of oxygen Maybe, although I'm not sure how that could have happened. wtf. Aren't you like 15? When you say a "very long time ago" I imagine a 12 year old with a needle in it's arm. Which makes me laugh, but still.
I am surprised you having a known history of panic attacks you didn't automatically assume that it might have something to do with it. Even though while most people who suffer from panic attacks do feel a rushing fear and would no way just shrug it off as "Oh I am just losing most of my ability to function I'll be fine" Sounds like low blood presser though. |

I LOL'd. But the only reason I didn't assume if it had to do with my previous panic attacks is because those only used to happen when I was like 10 or 11. I just shrugged it off because I feel fine now and the last time it happened, I recovered quite fine. Oh, and the last time it happened was when I was 12 or so. Meh, I dunno. Nobody has really answered my question yet, haha. |

To answer, the last sentence question. Yes. All the time, everything will just blank white, and then I'll collapse on the spot, and then get up. It feels horrible. Also, lately, my limbs have been falling asleep really easily. I was taking a dump, when I realized I couldn't move or control my foot. It was awesome. I smashed it with stuff, and poked it, and I couldn't feel a thing, or wiggle my toes.
Then I stood up and it hurt like heck, and my foot was bruised. Also, I have a weird feeling when I wake up from my dream, where all I can see is the texture of a pink marshmallow, with lots of marshmallow dust, and I imagine two rubbing against each other. It makes my fingers tingle I can't type or operate anything with my fingers. |
