Okay, Im hoping I'm in the right section. Anyway, I was making a website header and decided to really explore the world of brushes. I've honesty played with photoshop since sixth grade and have always been afraid to really do anything big with them, so this is new to me. Just wondering if it looks okay or not and what you think I should do differently (:

Well, I'm glad you know what colors go well.
These brushes look okay, but in my opinion, I think you should try to limit the usage of brushes. Of course, brushes make images look cool, but just slapping brushes on an image isn't that thrilling. If you spend a couple minutes messing around with the layer settings for the brushes like adding a drop shadow, stroke around the brush, add a gradient or whatever, the graphic would be much more interesting. Experimenting on Photoshop can never hurt you, and you might find a new style that you or many people may appreciate. If you want to learn more on how to use brushes or get brushes, refer to the links below: Mastering Brushes Brusheezy - A site for brushes |

Okay, so. I decided to try something simpler with the brushes.. but I don't know. I can't get this layout to look how I want it. The white bar just looks out of place and.. I don't know. Advice?

Holy shit, that first graphic is so many levels better than the layout. ._.
But about that. I do agree - tone down the brushes more. The focus should be on him, not the background. It's called a background for a reason, 'cause it should be in the back, complimenting (but not outshining) the foreground. |

What they said, pretty much. I really like that hexagonal brush, if you remove any brushes, I think you should keep that one.
