are you excited for thanksgiving? what are you going to eat? the standard turkey and dressing? what's your plans
i'm f*cking thrilled at the thought of a break from school. i'm gonna cook a feast, i duno yet what but we're gonna cook more than we ever have. give me suggestions of what to cook. |

I love all the food that comes on holidays~
This year my family is going to end up having a mini thanksgiving i think. Or none at all. Not quite sure yet mainly because we're going downstate for my friends, little sisters bat mitsvah. |

The best part of Thanksgiving for me, as corny as this may sound, is spending time with family. The sound of chatting, the smell of different foods cooking it all makes up this wonderful ambiance that I look forward to every year.
We usually do the traditional Thanksgiving feast - Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade rolls, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie. Sometimes there's random things thrown into the mix. My brother and his wife want steak this year and my mom and I totally freaked out on them. haha |

I love thanksgiving! We always have lamb which I love along with all the norms. My mom also makes this stuff, that is mashed sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, then you put it in the oven. so good! and I love rolls, and cream corn and cornbread, and brocolli with cheese, and mashed potatoes with cheese... I gain like 5 pounds over thanksgiving week.

i am excited. i'm making the usual for my family. the green bean casserole is new to us, as of last year, but i liked it so i'm making it this year. you should try a corn souffle or carrot risotto.

A turkey and all the basics <3. I'm most looking forward to not having classes though. Oh and the extra 10 pounds i'm probably going to gain.
Don't have any suggestions because I can't cook for shit.

Thanksgiving and Christmas are my FAVOURITE holidays, 'cause I get to spend so much time with the mass that is my happy go luck family (on my dad's side...the others, eeeh not so much).
My grams has learned to cook an entire apple pie, just for me. And man, I love me some apple 3.14. |

We always have Thanksgiving dinner at my house but this year we decided to change it up a bit so we're going over to my aunt's house. We do the traditional turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, salad, and all that. Plus apple cider. Omg I love that shit.
I wish they gave us more time off from school though. A week long break sounds so nice :( |

^ Ditto. My family usually comes over to my house for Thanksgiving, which sucks because I only have the day before Thanksgiving off from school so I feel so rushed. This year I'm going to my aunt's (who is a fabulous, fabulous cook) so I don't have to do anything but enjoy the food and listen to my crazy family.

Yeah, I love Thanksgiving. Good food, good meat, good God let's eat. Unfortunately, my family doesn't do much for Thanksgiving. We have a small-ish lunch and that's about it. My parents aren't really social people and we don't do anything with the rest of my family. But my girlfriend's family does, so I'm planning to have Thanksgiving with her and her family.

The Canadian Thanksgiving was last month.
My family doesn't really celebrate Thanksgiving... we usually just go out to a Chinese restaurant for dinner with my grandparents. No turkey, no mashed potatoes, no "thanks" speech; nothing special. This year I had a super late Thanksgiving-like dinner last Sunday with a couple of friends. We had planned to make turducken but it got a little too complicated, so we ended up having the turkey and duck and hen separately with potluck. It was so much fun... I think we've started a tradition.
