My graphics card said it supported dual monitors on the back.. I never actually looked at the card until I was going to plug in my second monitor that I waited a week for.. Turns out there is only one DVI on the graphics card, and I can't use both integrated and the 4850 at the same time..
SO, if you know a way I can use two monitors on the HD 4850 by VisionTek let me know.. if there is no way, who wants to buy a 4850. I'd sell it for, hmmm $85 |

But really, it has HDMI, something that looks like HDMI, and 1 DVI output. |

most modern video cards have one dvi and one vga slot. so if both monitors are vga get a dvi to vga converter. your confusing me bro. just converters. i need a mini dvi to vga converter for my mac. |

Instead of a 4870, get a 5770 or a 5850. Pay some more for an card that rapes it.

Anyway, get yourself a triple head to go if you don't want to spend on a new GPU.
Also lesson learned, never buy VisionTek, Sparkle, GenuineGeforce, or POWERCOLOR Also is your computer upside down or something? Or was your camera upside down? |

Compaq installs the motherboard on the left side of the computer, whereas most are on the right side, so the have to flip it for the i/o panel to fit the case |

Athlon 64 + 4850. Bit of bottlenecking there. Unless you upgraded the CPU since August.

its an athlon 64, but i can run anything on max with the card. :/ I have no noticeable problems. I'll look into the 5000 series, see if it's something I can afford.

If you're set on dual monitors, I'd say a 4890 is the way to go, but if you're playing with lower resolutions (I'm talking 1600x1200 lower, so still fairly large) then a 5770 will give better performance.
