i don't think so. i think chris brown got off pretty easy. yeah yeah, he's a celebrity and has a good legal team blahblahblah...but other people like vick got time for dog fighting and burress is going to get time for shooting himself. doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

^if the justice system and rhiana are ok with his punishment then i don't really think it matters what we, the people who weren't there and still don't actually know what happened, think he should have gotten. plus i don't get what punishment people want? i don't think locking him up in prison is going to be necessarily more beneficial in the long run to preventing this happening again than counseling and actual rehabilitation. he doesn't seem to be an immediate threat to anyone (the court system doesn't think so anyway) so let's worry about putting our violent murder people who need to be locked up in jail and worry about helping people who have made what appear to be mistakes that can be fixed. i disagree with the people teesa named being locked up too pretty much. them being punished harsher isn't a good reason why chris brown should be, it just speaks to how silly their own cases were. locked up for shooting yourself in the leg and harming only you? wtf


yeah hitting women is a bad problem, but i don't think punishing chris brown harshly is going to have any effect on the problem. men aren't gonna stop hitting their girlfriends or wives because chris brown went to prison.

yeah, i totally understand where you're coming from jc, but i disagree. i was just talking about the difference among the verdicts in each of the cases, with chris brown’s offense being the most serious (i think-and yeah, i’m speculating as to what i think happened, but he made it clear he assaulted her and then said some bs like he didn’t really remember what happened ). i was just looking at a couple of recent cases involving celebrities and i just didn’t think it made sense when compared to what chris brown did. and I don’t think what he did was a mistake because i’m one of those people who believe that if it happened once, it probably happened once before and going to continue. yeah, maybe prison doesn’t help-who knows? but I don’t think him being on probation and doing community service is going to help. but i am glad that he’s going to get counseling-i think maybe that is the one thing that can help, but I still don’t know if it can be fixed.

and with a lot of domestic violence cases, women go back to their abusers, so i'm not surprised if rihana was fine with it.
