^ What a bitch!! I'd totally be glad to help you out if you ever needed it :)
Me and papers don't get along very well. Fingers crossed that I won't have to write anything like my 10-page paper on the Kyoto protocol. It's probably true that taking symbolic logic online really made me hate the subject a lot more. The online material was a bore and long-drawn. I ended up doing pretty well but it's not something I would want to subject myself to again. |

omgaw! How dare you insult math! >:@ Haha if you didn't know, math = all time favourite subject. I just can't take it anymore cus I'm scared of taking courses full of obnoxious douchebags (all the math majors I've met are complete d-bags, yes). That's cool, maybe you can help me out with something. I'm looking to brush up on my mathematics (particularly upper-level algebra and set theory), but I'm having trouble finding material. Textbooks are expensive and not that much fun to read, but Wikipedia's math articles lack clarity. (Wikipedia's math and science articles usually have the same problem: they're written by PhDs, for PhDs.) Can you recommend an interesting and concise book (or books) about mathematics -- sort of like Feynman's writing, but for math instead of physics? |

Mill, Kant, Hume... all that good stuff. Immanuel Kant was cool - probably more useful to me in class than J.S. Mill. No wonder I aced my final. Too bad I had to read and write about some other authors (who were NOT memorable) for my midterm, and that totally screwed over my grades in the spring. ![]() AND WTF, what kind of math teacher would say that?! AUGH that reminds me of my stupid pre-calculus teacher (took it my sophomore year in HS) who thought that because I was ahead one year in math, that I didn't need her help or anything. What a bitch - if I see her face again, I'll tell her straight up what a horrible math teacher she is and that she should go back and learn how to TEACH students, instead of being all high-and-mighty. Also, she needs to stop bragging about her "oh-so-smart" daughter who ended up dropping out of college to work and moved out of her house. Honestly, her daughter can do WHATEVER she wants, but this math teacher was such a pain in the ass about things. ![]() /RANT But anyway, before her, I had this awesome Intermediate Algebra teacher who would bring in food for us. The downside is that someone stole my book (but returned it for me at the end of the year), so I had to do all my homework weeks in advance. still got an A+ in the class, but damn, I felt like such a nerd, since I had to use books that other students left behind on a temp. shelf, so I never knew if there would be a book there or not. So yea, I guess this fueled my love for math? Yep, then I ended up doing mediocre in the "advanced math for science & engineering majors", and that ended my short-lived love for math. DAMN YOU, YOU FOREIGN TEACHER WRITING ALL THESE CRAZY RADICALS AND EQUATIONS ON THE BOARD! USELESS ![]() /END OFFICIAL MATH RANTS. So um... I'm going to be taking a music class (GE) about symphony music. I'm kinda scared because I don't know ANYTHING about symphony music... ![]() |

^ Yeah, my Sophomore math teacher was a bitch. I was really shy in high school, and her telling me that made me second guess myself when I'd ask other teachers for help or clarification. A few days ago, I heard that she had a baby, and I can't help but think she's not going to be a very good mother. She can't even make it through one day of teaching students... how is she going to make it through the day with a baby who needs more attention than a couple students who just need math help haha
I had a really good math teacher first semester last year, from Puerto Rico. His wife had a baby around Thanksgiving and he came into class and told us all about how he was at a family gathering getting drunk and his wife told him she didn't feel good and he told her to go home and rest so he could keep drinking. He said he got plastered and around 2AM she woke him up because she was in a labor... she had to drive herself to the hospital and the whole way there he was complaining that he didn't feel good lol He had so many crazy stories. Yeah, I didn't buy my history books, so I always go to the library and hope they're there so that I can read them. But luckily I don't need them to do my homework. |

Random stories are the best! lol I had a Spanish teacher for two years back in HS and he would tell the same stories. The interesting part was that you KNEW they were fake because his stories CHANGE each time he tells them! I kind of wish some of them were real, but then again most were too good to be true.
Hmm.. I don't think I need to buy any books yet. There's nothing posted online about any books that I need... but I already have a book (borrowed from a friend) for ochem, so hopefully I will only have to spend money on 1 reader (symphony). ![]() lul I photocopy so much stuff from the library. They're probably catching on, thus part of the reason why they're charging MORE for photocopying now! ![]() |

I am completely drained. School started 3 weeks ago and I have NO social life anymore. I have a huge test in my pattern class. I have to make another f*cking skirt (studying fashion designing). I had to draw 10 silhouettes for tomorrow but I only did 5 cuz I'm f*cked. Drawing isn't as fun anymore. :( Thank god I have fridays off. *sigh*

Should I skip school? probably not the best idea. Like for my school we dont have to take all our exams unless we miss more than 3 days of school. So unless you have a policy like that then you might want to save those days just in case you really need them. Anyways today was and still is busy. I have a ton of homework. I had to organize 30 letters, and i had marching band for 3 f*cking hours in the pouring rain. Now its about 10:23 and i finished the rest of my letters and now i need to finish math. I'll finish my english and physics during school tomorrow. |

SCHOOL IS GREAT! Getting A's in everything but Spanish. -_- Professor is an evil little man who looks a little like Batman.
love not having any lit classes this semester. no doubt anymore, i'm definitely happier with problem sets and science classes. |

I'm falling behind in all my readings, and I have multiple projects due and midterms to prepare for in the next couple of weeks. But the social side of school is going well! I see my favourite school friends everyday and there are parties and events happening every week... good stuff. And Marketers' Night is fast approaching!! I finally get to show off my super cool business cards.

Two papers due next week (one on Metaphysics and one on Kant :( ), a business plan to finish, mock trial practice later, work meetings later, behind on all of my readings including for intensive study on Ulysses, my head's about to explode.
You? |

Shit, I have a C in Mandarin. I don't even know how considering we haven't had any huge tests (and I aced all the tiny quizzes) and I turn in my homework. I even speak to the teacher in Mandarin like I'm supposed to. WHAT IS THIS?
And wow this is the first weekend that I don't have any homework. -_- |

Lucky.
It's Thanksgiving long-weekend (yeah, we Canadians have it a month earlier) and I have 5 assignments due this upcoming week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday). I haven't really started on any of them yet. I'm scared. |

After the most brutal week of work EVER, I finally have a weekend to myself in peace. Except I have a Phil midterm on Wednesday, and I haven't been to any lectures since my last midterm. Which will mean...lots of reading tomorrow and Tuesday. But by God, I am not picking up a single book this entire weekend.
Since my last emo post it's been a lot better; I've been whipped into shape by my friends, and I've discovered that working on assignments with other people is greatly helpful. POSITIVE THOUGHTS. |
