Okay, more like I had two questions:

One was why would you knowingly consider buying fake products as well as telling people that such products are almost exactly the same as the real ones? Like, why would you waste your money in order to compare fake products to real ones? I understand that you probably didn't do much research (because you're new at this, which you've stated quite a few times), but it just seemed like a waste of time and money, I guess, if you're just going to buy the real ones. But hey, it's your choice to do what you want. It's more like, what I'm asking is your logic behind it. However, I know people make mistakes, and like I said, I'm glad that you're not supporting these fakes anymore. We're all here to learn from each other.

And I also wanted to know what your justification is that these "imitation/fake products" are much better than drugstore brands? I felt that you were just stating biased generalization, that's all. Some drugstore brands may be shitty, but there have been some hidden gems that are HGs (holy grail) for many people. Case in point - clean * clear oil absorbing (blotting?) sheets. Those work just as well as the Shiseido ones, and they don't remove makeup when used. How awesome is that?

And like I said, I'm in no way offended by what you said because such discussion threads in forums are here for people to discuss objectively.

my hope with buying and comparing the fake and real was just to have some knowledge behind both. GURU type thing :P silly i know, but it was more like- well how DO they compare?
i know someone *no names mentioned* who constantly recommends fake mac to people who cannot afford the real stuff. MY hope behind buying both was to see partly where she's coming from, and just so i can stand up and say- "hey look, i've tried this and this and this is my opinion................" does that make sense? i mean like- i just wanted knowledge from both sides. I'm PARTLY glad that i got to find out both sides of the fake vs. real "industry" before finding out about the manufacturing, but im glad that i DO now know about it and why not to buy it. As far as WHY i say the quality is the same? Its not. OBV. i did state before its almost exactly the same... and for me its true! i dont own A LOT of the mac that most fakes are based off of, but from what i do own- it goes on the same, same amount, same colour, same 'pigmentation' or how ever you'd like to say that. as far as the brushes go- mac obv provides better quality, but i guess that is then again coming from someone who isnt too picky about brushes >.> I do NOT like using drug store ones though! which comes to the other part of your post... i have found them very unhelpful to me, and basically shitty. no matter how much money i put into them. maybe its just the ones sold where i live... but i dont like them at all! :/ soooooooooooooooo...... i guess here is where i can stand up and say i was wrong :P quality is different. I guess i was comparing quality and PRICE to each thing. like....... if you spend $3 on fake mac, the quality may be well worth your money for someone, ya know? I was wrong, i'll admit it lol. But all the same- i dont mind the fake brushes =O i am just kinda disappointed in myself at my lack of looking into things before buying, ya know? :/ *sorry little Chinese children!*

oh, and another thing about the drugstore thing :) what i was trying to get at with the whole "small town / where i live thing" previously is that everything we have here IS shitty. I have to go about 2-3 hrs away to a bigger city to even find good quality drugstore makeup. But i have my holy grails too :) everyone does! =)

as far as the "why spend money" thing goes-
it was purely so i could have knowledge of both sides.

i have nothing left to say =O

MMMMMMM. I guess if you'll let me, i'll take back what i said :P I do have different opinions on each fake and real mac item (brushes, pigments, e/s) each one is different, if you'd like to hear each one, ask. but no, i will say after thinking about it more they are not EXACTLY the same. It just depends on the person, they're knowledge of makeup, and what they want to spend. Just let me take it back please >.<' hahah.

-100 for Shelbyyyy

oooh. just a little add on :P everyone around here uses mary kay.
i absolutely cannot STAND their products :/ i've triedd LOADS of it *my mom sells it* and i just dont like it much. but like you said- HD- THEIR MAKEUP REMOVER, works just as well as clinique or mac, but is half the price. i LOVE it. hahah.

omg the blue one looks AMAZING! ohmy.gif I don't see these on sephora. Dang, I want to see them in person. D; Must.. not.. spend money... pinch.gif

Shelby - I'm keeping this brief, as I am limited in time online since I am out of the country. I get where you're coming from, so thanks for answering and understanding. As for eye makeup remover, my HG makeup remover is Lancome's Bi-Facil. I've never tried the clinique, mac, or mary kay ones so I can't compare.

Tried the Bi-Facil, got my eye makeup off in a jiffy! Can't say it does a better job than the Clinique cleansing balm but it's certainly less messy (and doesn't cloud my vision up!). Also I tried it on my face and it grossed me out to smear an oily liquid all over, so bleh; will be using Bi-Facil strictly as eye-makeup remover. (For those who are curious, I'm using Bioderma Sebium H20 as my all-over makeup remover...or as a no-rinse cleanser when I'm feeling extra lazy. LOVE THIS STUFF).

Thinking of trying cleansing oil...Shu Uemura that is.

OMG Stila Barbie smudgepots I WANT THAT BLUE ONE!! How's the staying power on those babies? Smudgy anything = deal breaker for me.

Also, Lancome Virtuose, pretty good! Very black, not flaky or clumpy, curled lashes pretty well without curler, lengthened, volume somewhat. Annoying tester size and shorter handle = poking myself in the eye. But that's my own fault. I like the big airy brush too. Wore it for maybe 4 hours when I got home? Smudged a little bit but I expected it to. Overall not bad! :)

I need a new makeup remover, Christina is tempting me to get the Lancome one. I hate the Sephora one so much because it's so damn oily.

Gigi, smudgepots are my HG liner. Wayyy better than Fluidline because it's not as stiff. The staying power isn't that bad, actually. I can have mine on for the whole day and it doesn't smudge AT ALL, unless it's really hot. And if it is, I just put a little powder over it.

EDIT//

Wait, I take that back about the smudging. You can smudge it, but after it dries, it will stay there. Boo on bad phrasing.

Gigi - alright, then it is time for me to try out the virtuose ;] The Hypnose just defines, which is why I liked that it's good for separating my lashes (tends to stick together). Sometimes I need/want volume. ;x lul I love that we can buy those miniature samples for cheap.

As for the bi-facil, I only use it as an eye-makeup remover because it does feel oily. Since it's two parts (water and oil, plus some other stuff?) in solution, it's meant to remove waterproof stuff (i.e. fluidline). It does feel a little oily, so I usually only use like, three drops for each eye, and just blot with a tissue right after use. It feels really clean after that. No tugging whatsover! Sephora brand anything is usually not so great, and I can say that plenty of their brand's products are similar in pricing to higher brands, but not so great. ;/ I'm always tugging my eye (creates wrinkles!) whenever I was using my sephora brand makeup remover. And I had to use quite a bit to even remove my non-waterproof mascara. >;[ DO NOT WANT!

I usually use cheap DS brand face-wipes (I'm lazy too!) or my shiseido cleanser since it remove all my makeup pretty well, and doubling as a cleanser.

Basically I'm almost finished my UD's 24/7 eyeliner in zero (black) and it's been my eyeliner of choice for awhile now. But I think it's time for a change, because I dont think it goes as black as I`d like it to be on my waterline. I'd like to know any of your suggestions for a really dramatic/pigmented black eye liner, specifically for the waterline not the lid.

Thanks! n_n

I can't think of ANY liners specifically made for the waterline, but MAC Feline eye kohl (limited edition but it pops up every now and then, I think it's coming back with the Style Black collection) is suuuuper pigmented, but smudgy as hell. Or try Stila's Kajal kohl liners, I've heard that the black one is very very black.

I just got these muddaesshoz from work. FO FREE

velvety deep and pigmented shades, staying power is badass.. I liiike

love my job.

UDPP vs. TFSI who wins? I hear tfsi is easier to blend on, but it'd be nice to have some of your opinions. ORr if you wanna just talk about some nice bases too that would be cool thanks!

editingagain/

Is anyone as turned on as me by MAC's Style Black collection? It might just be the promo photos but I practically <3 anything black. Black people included.

also, any favorite red glosses? I'm a fan of NARS Bloodwork but I'm not sure if I'm ready to drop $28.00 on a gloss.. and last time I tried NARS Orgasm lipgloss, the texture was grosss. SO...

When it comes to packaging, TFSI wins majorly in my opinion. I really hate UDPP's lipgloss like bottle, I wish it was in a tube like TF or in a pot like Benefit's Eye Primer (I had that too for awhile, its the one thing I regret buying).

As for the products themselves, I like them both. TFSI is a bit more watery product than UDPP. But I've heard some people prefer one of them, I dont remember which one, to use for oily lids.

And yess I am totally excited for the Style Black collection! I'm so glad my college is near a MAC so I can take a look when it gets released (:

herLiminality - I think Gigi said that UDPP was better for oily lids, but TFSI is better for blending. However, with the right brush, blending is fine with UDPP.

Ruth - yea you know I was leaning towards TFSI, but I guess based on various makeup blogs, I really wanted staying power. TFSI does have good staying power though. But then, another reason why I decided on UDPP was because UD was having a 30% sale so I bought the Ammo + Primer set, which ended up only being about $27 USD for both (a steal). So really, it's like I got the primer for free, lol. TFSI feels the same as UDPP on my hand, but I didn't test it with any eyeshadow. I thought it would be weird to do so at Sephora. =X

Yes, UDPP all the way for oily lids! If you crease with UDPP there is no chance in hell you will like TFSI. For me, anti-creasing > anything else. I will be willing to spend 5 more minutes blending if it means no creasing. Not that I find blending particularly difficult with UDPP.

A lot of people prefer TFSI for the packaging, but honestly that doesn't bother me. I have never understood the UDPP packaging hate. Guys, just give your UDPP a good whack. The product comes out. =_= I like having the wand applicator cus it gets a precise amount of product too.

Use a primer. No eyeshadow can get over 5-6 hours of true wear without fading. Get Urban Decay Primer Potion. :)

^ No...I have the MAC Fluidline though. It doesn't last (smudges) and I suck with a brush. The thing about gel liner is that I can't find a way to get it distributed evenly on the brush (i.e. no weird lumped up bits) without wasting a bit of the product, whether it be by swiping excess off on a tissue/back of my hand. I do have gel liner but I almost NEVER use it out, and if I do it's either as a base or I put shadow over it. :(

But I do use a Japanese liquid liner. No weird clumpy brush, lasts all day. Awesome!

I got some Calvin Klein sheer lipsticks today! At Costco of all places...$21.99CND for three colours. BEAUTIFUL! They're all on sale at Sephora anyway though but most of them are out of stock on the website. I hope they aren't discontinuing it...sad.gif

Do you like them? If you do, I need to hit up Costco... I heard the CK lip glosses were amazing :3

I've been using my Shiseido liquid liner whenever I want that opaque look but it kind of dries to a semi-shiny finish haha. I don't think people notice, but it bothers me :x I was watching this youtube vid and this girl was using NARS eyeliner in Black Moon and it looked so goood...

Sometimes Costco has such great deals :) especially when they were having Smashbox and Stila, WTF! I never got the Stila :( But I've seen Lancome mascaras and other nice things there.
