Ruth, I love the colors but they kind of disappoint me. Most of them are sheer, but the navy blue and light black are true to color. They don't last long, not even when I have a base. Usually I just use them if I want light color. The brushes that came along w/ the set are AMAZING though.

Here's my current makeup collection :/
I just started "collecting" exactly a year ago this august lol, was never really into it before then. I also ordered LOADS of makeup that still isnt in yet :/ i'll add it when it arrives and some is packed up, so when i unpack i'll have to retake another pic. :/ sorry, i just didnt see it fair to ask you all to post yours then not show mine x

Shelby-Zu - So you usually order online? You should google up "_________ coupon codes", inserting the brand(s) you're considering purchasing. I tend to wait until there's something that's really worth getting, and I usually make small purchases IF there are no coupon codes. However, if there are some really good coupon codes that I KNOW are coming, or that I can wait, I will. :] And it really pays off! I save a bundle this way. I know Sephora tends to also sell sets of items and it saves a lot as well. So you should consider those when purchasing!
 retailmenot is your friend!p.s. Gigi I just ordered UD Deluxe e/s in Zero, and I heard it's comparable (some say better) than MAC's e/s in Carbon. I really need a black one to create smokey eyes

Oh, I have Zero. It's pretty much Carbon with a lot of glitter. Personally, I don't really wear black eyeshadow a lot so I use it like a liner.

I've been checking up makeup alley and reviews were good with them together. I've just read that Zero is slightly shimmery, but not glittery. For example, my MAC e/s in honey lust has a lustre finish, while femmi-fi e/s has a veluxe pearl finish. The lustre is glittery (has some fallout, but primer makes it minimal), while the veluxe pearl has a slight shimmer to it (no fallout for me). So is it more on the glittery side, or the shimmery side? Haha but it can't be as bad as UD's midnight cowboy (cowgirl?), right? ;P p.. I got Zero deluxe e/s for $12 so I'm not complaining. yay sales <3 I'll also swatch it once I get it in the mail and let u know, shelby! |

Hey since I am not a makeup junkie at all (clothes is another story though haha) maybe you guys can help.
I need new foundation for school. I've been using Mac Studio makeup (oldschool, I know) but its almost empty and I want something different. I have combination skin and I need light-medium coverage. I tried makeup forever which i loved, but it only lasted a few months. I'm willing to spend up to 35 bucks if it will last awhile. |

My NARS liquid foundation lasted quite a while. It was 40, but well worth it. The Stila Illuminating liquid foundation did too. Actually, just opt for something liquid. They usually last longer.

I'm totally in love with Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation. It has a pretty watery texture (as it's water-based). It's extremely light and non-greasy, has light-medium coverage. Can't tell you how long it'll last though cus I got it pretty recently.
Have you tried using a different way to apply foundation? Just by changing technique you can use a lot less of it. |
