I've never really done a WIP on vexels from like, the actual beginning. But I decided to with this one. I'm trying some new things with this and so far it isn't that bad. This thing has pretty much been the reason why I've gone into lurker mode and haven't been posting much. This and work. But mostly this. Haha.

So far:

Original: Hereeeeeeee

The skin tone around the chest area on the man, and his lips appear too dark. The shade used for the lighting creates too much contrast with the chest and other side, he looks 3 different skin tones. There could possibly be more color/definition around his jaw line.

Far shoulder looks a bit odd though, how it's so much more yellow than the rest of his skin. But still,

And I wonder how you do all your ish in Illustrator. I tried doing this in illustrator but gave up.

But thanks everyone! :) I'll update regularly when there's something worthy of showing.

Thomas, look at the original. The bright spots are sun spots. Thus the weird coloring and different tones.

But the coloring will be adjusted when i'm completely done anyways. I'm not too worried about that right now.

EXACTLY. I'm a realism person. His skin alone is 274 layers. Handling that many shapes in illustrator..holy shit i'd shoot myself.

I love illustrator for the plainer things that I dabble with. But something like this, Photoshop is love.
