Yeah, brushing your tongue is a good way to eliminate odor in your mouth. Also, if you don't have a toothbrush around at the moment, you could always eat an apple. If you bite into an apple, the crisp fibrous flesh of the apple cleans your teeth and the pectin in the apple gets rid of the bad odor.

Another way is to drink a cup of black tea. It inhibits growth of bacteria that causes bad breath. There are polyphenols in the tea that destroy the bacteria. Green Tea works too, but not as well as the black tea.

Lastly... you could chew on a sprig of parsley or mint.
