Not getting it refurbished...

The thing that bugs me is that I dont know whent he next one will come out and when it does mine will be outdated and ill want the new one. Apple is so good at that...

Im looking forward to it. 1600$ for the 15 inch 2.53 and a free itouch! its free after rebate atleast. Including the tax, I total at 2000$, and then after itouch rebate its 1750. Then the web premuim adobe package is 350. And my parents said they are gonna pay for the software and the tax. They're so kind. biggrin.gif

But then I will only have 1100$ left in my bank account sad.gif

Im a bad jew. Good jews save money and use pc's.

Upgrades come every other season so they just got all the new macbooks and stuff like like a month ago (spring), so probably, in September, they'll upgrade the specs on the models, probably the same time as the release of snow leopard. Or just shortly after..

Well, my advice is spend the money now, before college comes, and you have like 100 other things that have to be paid for. That one macbook pro should last you a very long time. Also get apple care. Especially for someone like you that tinkers around.

I'd be doing the exact opposite if I was getting a Mac.

Get me a base model macbook, and upgrade the shit out of it.

pretty sure you do have to be a college student.

http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/education_routing

i used my student discount, too. pretty sure switching over to a mac was the best choice i made this year... so far.

I meant a 15 inch macbook pro. So do you think I should go in to buy it or buy it online. Im almost certain it counts for high school students.
You do know that K-12 means high school?

O and am I eligible for the free itouch?!

QUOTE(drinksmokef*ck @ Jul 25 2009, 08:57 PM) *
You do know that it says K-12 teacher, administrator, or staff member right?

QUOTE(jcp @ Jul 25 2009, 10:17 PM) *
When we met he would have mentioned it. But seriously I could save the most money by using a student discount. Except I could save more if the guy that used to work there helped me out. But it looks kind of like, student discounts and employees are in the same boat so maybe the discounts are the same.

good job not being able to read.

k-12 teachers/administrators/staff/etc does not mean high school students. so no, you're not eligible for the student discount.

holy shit, i get you're only 13 or 14 or whatever, but you are seriously one dumb as shit kid.

"technically" you can upgrade anything, just some things are easily inter-changeable while others are a bit trickier

K-12. Kindergarten through 12th grade. You cant read either. And if you had read you would have read that it doesnt even check to see if you are in college so it doesnt matter. And i will put in my brothers college. Get the facts before you accuse.

k-12 TEACHERS, not students.

anyways, on whether they check or not it really depends where you go. in the store, they asked to see my college ID and online, columbia has their own portal where you have to log-in to the school site with your UNI before buying anything.

if you're using your bro's account, then you probably shouldn't get it at a store.

tbh i really don't think the discount is that much anyways. a few hundred dollars doesn't make a difference in the long run. i would've pd full price for my macbook.

My student discount on apple products last time I checked was $50 something. My developer discount was more than that, but cost more to be a developer.

You really shouldn't use your brothers account at all. Because with the Adobe software you have to prove eligibility too. And they'll need YOUR NAME and for me it was a school record, which of course will need to have YOUR NAME on it too.

You just need to research things out first. Completely.

And how the hell do you plan on keep paying for new editions of the macbook? You're just a kid.

You could have went to your MCX for no tax. whistling.gif

Tax was nothing, plus the AAFES stores sell refurbished electronics and don't tell you about it, as was the case with my Sony TV, my xBox and my printer.

I also got a state discount too.

If you are related to anyone in the military you qualify for the AAFES Apple discount as well. Per what the Apple Store dude told me, but he was an idiot, so who knows.

Might as well save the 100 dollars. You aren't a good Jew. Even if 100 dollars isn't a lot compared to 1700 dollars it is still a lot. Especially when you don't have a job.

I think It would be better If I just went into the store and worked my business man magic and got some discounts.

I have no more questions this can be closed, to end the bashing biggrin.gif
