Hi, I'm new here. I just joined because someone from Xanga pointed me this direction and I just joined MySpace. I found a layout I want to use but for some odd reason, it's not working in the new 2.0 that everyone is automatically given if they joined after April of 2009. Since I just joined yesterday, of course I've been given 2.0. I went into the customize option to choose "go back to 1.0" to "start from scratch" and no matter how many times I do that, it's not taking. And I also wound up deleting one other account I had there that I had just opened because it did the same thing so I opened a new account and it's still not working.

Does anyone know how to disable 2.0 another way to go back to 1.0 or another away to switch from 2.0 to 1.0?

I haven't heard anything from MySpace on how to do this and am still waiting to hear from them but think it's going to take far too long. I can't even get started until I get this issue cleared up.

People who make accounts after the 2.0 transition aren't able to switch back since technically, they have nothing to switch back to. I don't know if this will work but it's worth a try. Check this out.

Then that means that more than 75% of the layouts here for MySpace, I can't use? In the 2.0 version, the "About Me" section will not take the CSS portion of the layout script whatsoever. Too many of the layouts here don't work with 2.0 and I seriously wish I knew something (anything) about CSS to know how to re-write the script and put it elsewhere to get the layouts to work.

This can't be true because if it is, then it's absolutely terrible news because I am now stuck without a layout for my MySpace. I don't like any of their official 2.0 layouts and I'm not really finding any here to use?

All of you have to do is to learn how to convert 1.0 layouts into 2.0 layouts. It's not really hard, and I will be making 2.0 conversions for all of my layouts.

actually you can go to 1.0 if you just joined myspace it quite easy i've done it once or twice and it worked..

ok
1. go to customize
2. click on 1.0 profile (it wont let you go back)
3. click on Home
3. go to Blog
4. go to Post New Blog
4. Add a Title and a body (just type anything it doesnt have to be long)
5. click on Prevew & Post
6. click on Post
7. go to Home and under Profile click Customize
8. click on Go back to Profile 1.0
8. on the pop up box click on Go Back to 1.0

and that's it.. that should work, like i said it has worked for me!

ps. after that you can just delete the blog post and it wont do anything

Had to say, thank you for this :P I tried it and it does work. I've been wanting to make a new account & use the old format for a long time.
