There is a moth who has made his/her home in my bedroom the last four days. This morning, it was sleeping in my hair.
Because moths are said to bring wealth, good luck, health, and holes in your clothes, I want to make sure its stay here is comfortable. What should I leave out in my room to insure this moth remains happy? |

I don't believe in superstitions. However, I recommend giving it grass or some ish. Idk, maybe even little crickets, but I highly doubt it would be able to eat them.

they also lay their larvae in flour, cereal or basically any opened (or sometimes unopened) package in you pantry. i don't encourage you offering them some unless you want to eat wormies with your breakfast.

They bore into your ear as you sleep and sip the cerebral fluid from your skull. Do you find blood on your pillow in the morning? You will soon.

you are so nice to want to make it comfortable...i am ridiculously unbelievably scared of them. ![]() sounds like a situation similar to mine. one time i found a beetle and decided to keep it as a pet. i opted on feeding it ranch dressing. unfortunately it was one of the 1/10 who don't like ranch dressing i guess cause it died. RIP hope your moth survives. |

on the happier note, i found a fat caterpillar in my garden eating up my green leaves. so i kept it in a big box and fed it those green leaves. and soon it made its little cocoon and turned into some moth.

wow, well, theres a first time for everything. don't google cuz they won't know.
Eco- biodome books suggest you leave some dry wood barks or get a stick from outside, they normally hang there for hours, hang the stick or sticks someplace high in your room and keep the AC down. they prefer 75-90 degrees fahrenheit. they can survive dry cold windy weather but you should keep your room dry and warm. NOT HUMID! got windows, keep them locked or it will get out, but keep the blinders up so there's some NATURE in your room moths are so used to. seeing dark boring furniture will make it sick in a dark room. try to have the blinders down around midday when the sun is just hell, it can damage their delicate wings. but they do need a little sunlight and mostly darkness. Food- keep a plate of fruits out, whole grapes, sliced red apples and yellow pears, the smell gets them. leaves, get leaves from outside, the round smooth dark green ones that can even survive in the winter without changing colors or decaying, and the pretty maple leaves that change colors all year. moths need very little water and food because they have to travel light. a tall clear glass of water should be replaced every 5 days in the same location where the moth is used to coming for food. that way its right there. Danger- moths don't like shiny or gold like objects. keep those hidden or it will get aggressive. don't shine lights on it, if you have a windchime, it will confuse the moth, got any big black loud speakers or big bright colored pictures, get rid of them. CEILING FANS: never turn them on if the moths in that room! the moth will DIE. repeat, MOTH WILL DIE! i hope that helps ![]() |

aha aw i've never heard of anybody who's willing to house a moth.
i know if i woke up with one in my hair, the only place it wouldn't be is my room. some clothes should be good, like everyone said. tell me how it goes! i wanna know if you actually get lucky. |
