According to the Santa Clara County coroner’s office, 19-year-old Steven Ding was a passenger in a van that rolled at I-880 at approximately midnight. Ding, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was ejected.

According to the San Jose Police Department, the Mazda MPV was headed south on the interstate parkway when it hit the curb, slid on its side and hit a tree in the median, finally coming to rest on its roof on the northbound side of the road.

Ding died at the scene; the driver and a second passenger fled before emergency personnel arrived.


RIP.

I feel like one thread isn't enough to pay my fullest respect to Steven Ding. He was a sneaker and fashion legend; very intelligent guy who contributed many things to this site. We will never forget him. RIP +2

dang, thats weird, cause I was on 880 south that night and i dont remember seeing a car accident

The accident actually happened early Thursday morning around 6 AM
