Need Help with page probs am going mad!!! Options

Hi there

I was wondering if you could help me with a few probs i have? theyre driving me insane as im almost done!!!

as you can see from the link below - in my diary section the diary banner doesnt stretch right across the view all just scrunches up at the end is there anyway to have it go across and move view all?

also the blogs section is all moved up onto the banner how can i move this down and neaten it up?

my background looks good on safari but on other monitors the side panels full short what size should this be?

Finally my sliced images show cut lines and are misaligned in ie but not in safari??? why?!
