He's leaving. Should I tell him how I feel, or let him go?

The first guy I met when I moved to my new school 4 years ago was a sophomore when I met him. we instantly clicked, and over the years, he has become my best friend.
Now, he's graduating in two weeks, and after that, he's leaving for basic in South Carolina. I fell in love with him last year, but I never had the courage to tell him how I feel.
Should I tell him how I feel and risk losing him forever, depending on how he reacts, or should I not tell him and risk never knowing what could have happened?

Tell him... just so long as you don't get in the way of his personal goals.

If he's just shipping off to basic and he's a good friend and you want to tell him, don't put pressure on him. Depending on the type of guy he his (and what branch he's going to) basic can be a really stressful time and you don't want to make it even more complicated if he's thinking about you telling him you have feelings for him. Chances are, he's already picked up on those feelings but since he hasn't heard it directly from you those feelings aren't complicating anything.
