Well, isnt female/male a gender, and blacks/whites/hispanics an ethnicity? So, thats something that you for sure cannot discriminate against. Its set into stone and we know for a fact that we are born with a certain gender and ethnicity. But why are people gay? Have we proven there is a gay gene? Is it that they are born this way or that there is, in fact, a gay gene? The last time I checked, we are still not sure.
So, christians dont believe in homosexuality, so why should they be sued because they refuse to cater to gays? Its their religion and the way the live their lives, so why should they have to shove their beliefs under the rug and do something just because a gay person refuses to go to another person?

Its absurd to say that I, or any other christian or person of any religion, would refuse service to a black person or a woman. Please dont use the homo/hetero, woman/man, black/white argument.

With this hate bill that was passed recently, its like I cannot discriminate against a gay person but they can discriminate against my religious beliefs. This is a free country. And if we start making hate bills for everyone who gets picked on our rights and freedoms are going to straight out the window.

That's great, except that homophobes aren't accepting that everyone is different, and they're encouraging political policies (such as Proposition 8 in California) that actively alienate a whole group of people.

No one says that you have to like homosexuality, just that you should accept the fact that people are different, that homosexuals aren't doing anything to personally harm you, and there's no need to treat them as second-class citizens that don't have the same rights as heterosexuals.

(I actually don't think that churches should be forced to marry gays, either, but that's because I have a strongly libertarian view on personal rights, and I feel that the government shouldn't be involved in marriage at all -- I feel that every union should be a civil union. But that's another discussion.)

Us gay haters have to put up with the fact that gays deserve their rights... to exist, but they don't deserve our respect, just like we don't expect them to respect us for our views. And... lol to think that they can go to a Church.. or a Mosque... or even a Synagogue to get married is laughable.

Fact of the matter is... there's more people who dislike gays than there is gays and pro-homos.. You want to bring this political thing into your post, ok.. that's fine, but guess what? We have the right to vote for or against anything, here in the U.S., INCLUDING gays. They want to get married? Find a state that will support them, if not leave the country get married and have your homo-honeymoon there, then come back.

Those homos and pro-homos are lucky they don't live in the M.E. where homosexuality or the promotion of homosexuality is not tolerated and is quickly rid of, literally. And they're lucky that here in the U.S. we even acknowledge them instead of ridding them.

Be happy with what you have gays... because that's the most you're gonna get out of this nation.

I think giving homosexuals civil unions is a step in the right direction, but that would mean that they would have to move to a state that recognizes their union and they may have to turn down opportunities because they cannot move (like job promotions.)

Religion aside, why shouldn't homosexuals be able to acquire the benefits of marriage? There are gay couple who have been together a looong time and if one of them is dying the other can't make a medical decision, they have to file separate tax returns even if they live in the same household, etc. It's not just the fact that two people love each other and should be together, there's some economic benefit to same sex marriage. And there are also openly gay people who not focused on gay marriage:

They should have the right to marriage... just don't get mad when the population of your state says no and definitely don't ask a monk of an Abrahamic religion to marry you, that's just a little absurd, imo.
