i'm planning to get a gps very soon. I don't know much about GPS, so i'm asking for suggestions. I want a dependable one that shows all streets around my location. Or the one that lets me know many restaurants in one zip code (like the iphone apps, yellowpage). And reasonable price won't hurt too.

So let me have it.

^ dude, huh?

Garmin Nuvi products. I know several who have them and no one has complained. They range in different types, features, etc. Do an Amazon search for Garmin Nuvi and browse for a while. There's typically a chart/matrix that shows the different models and how they compare with each other.

Make sure you buy a new one, that has been updated recently. Thats how you can make sure it shows all roads. Otherwise it may not show newer roads.

I heard about when i was watching the Apple 2009 Keynote from march that the Iphone 3.0 update will enable a GOOGLE NAVIGATION type feature on the google maps App and it will be a GPS!, but the CON about it is that you have to set the Streets and Everything yourself! THATS BULLS**T!!! hammer.gif pooh.gif

Garmin makes great products. When I first started driving my parents got me some off brand GPS and it went to crap pretty fast. Most of my friends have GPS systems and by far the best one I've played it (and contemplated stealing from one of my friends) is the Nuvi 760. I think your best bet is to go to a site that includes the features of GPS. The nice thing about GPS systems now is that there are an array of features... so you'll have to do some comparing to find the one that best fits your needs. There's no point in paying for a bunch of features you're not going to use or skipping features that could be valuable to you.
