Serene Sleek, idea for future site layout Rating Options

Well after about two months, I'm going to change my site layout. I had an idea and just started on it to see what I would get. So far this is what I have. A few things that bug me is the top navigation and the 'slogan' (the text under the top navigation). Any ideas on what to fix? Some C&C won't hurt either.

it's refreshing to see some new colors, but I dont like the fact that your logo (mikeplayouts(dot)net) has to blend with the background, you should make it pop like pazazz :]

Yeah step outside your comfort zone like last time. You had a good layout there. Look at some designs and see if you can get some inspiration from there. And yeah I'm not feeling your slogan. I think it's because it looks crammed there.

I don't really like the fact that your tag line is larger than your site name. Also you used grey again? Grey technically goes with everything but that doesn't mean you always have to use it. It's just so dull. If you're looking for a neutral, maybe try brown or something. I'm personally not the biggest fan of it for the most part, but it's something different.

I know you want to make it look simple and professional but this is just too...boring and the colors are also boring.

Ugh, I think I need to see this actually coded to critique it. I have the feeling that the header, as well as the text on it, it going to be way too big. But, it might look different coded?

It bothers me that the header takes up about 50% of the page. Not sure if I'm feeling the navigation like it is shown. The repeating/disappearing text is really busy.

Ehh...well I was going to put the main site navigation in between the "{ }" part. But yeah, I guess it's a bit too big.

To be honest man, I'm not really feeling it. This looks kind of generic to other things you've made because you usually have some sort of bar with a gradient in it, and a drop shadow underneath. I suggest changing up the font some, I used to use the same fonts for my stuff and it got really old. I like the grays you have in the first section. And I agree with Thomas on how the bars take up half the page. I would shorten the blue bar a whole lot.

I guess so but this is actually a 'template', because I was planning on changing the colors and stuff and the only color I was going to keep is the blue.

I was planning on coding it today to see how it would turn out but something unexepectly came up and I didn't have time. I'll probally code it in about 1 to 3 days.
