then we should discontinue the talk, becuase you don't understand that god already knows whether you will take path A or path B. i agree there are two paths, and god knows the outcomes of both. however, since he knows everything, he also has to know WHICH you will take. if he only knew the outcomes and not which the person would choose, then he would no longer know EVERYTHING.
you may think you are "choosing" A or B, and from our perspective, you are. god already knows the choice though, because his omniscience dictates that he must. just scrap omniscience imo |

I don't believe in the quran either.
It's not that I don't believe what the bible and the quaran say-- I don't believe there are actually any words in the books. I believe there are just a lot of blank pages. And yes, I refuse to open one and look for myself. |

According to the Bible, God is all-powerful. Therefore, he would know ahead of time whether someone would turn out to be gay or not. To say otherwise would be limiting God's powers, which would contradict that He is all-powerful.
Because he knows ahead of time that certain babies will turn out to be gay, which does he create them? He obviously has no reason at all to test them since he knows that they will be gay. You can't even say that God tests anyone because He already knows what will happen. Using "because He is testing .... blah blah blah" is contradictory, therefore incorrect. Right? Makes sense to me.. So can you tell me why God creates gays? QUOTE("super smart scientists 'n stuff")

You mean omniscient. God is all knowing. Being all powerful has nothing to do with knowing one's future and or sexuality. Now, the gay gene is still a theory and until it becomes proof and truth, I will not believe that there is a gay gene. However, if the gay gene were to be true then I will change my theology to match truth (which happens to be scientific truth.) I believe all Christians should think this way. A lot of scientists spend their entire lives trying to find an answer and when we do, Christians tend to blow it off by saying "God hates you." This is incorrect and wrong. Science and religion CAN and ALWAYS will work together. We don't know a lot of things in the Bible, and science is there to help explain a lot of the things in the Bible. Now, assuming that there IS no gay gene, that leaves a lot of space for other things. God knows everything because we consider him to be the Alpha and the Omega, aka beginning and end. Now, time is just another dimension. God is all powerful and therefor cannot be bound by the dimension of time. Once you understand or at least try to say "What if" then it begins to make sense. God has already seen what your life was like and already has seen it end. He knows what you've done, but does not intervene on your own decisions. It really depends on how you see judgement and choice. I personally think I can do whatever the f*ck I want and God will not stop me. He will bump and poke at me at times to remind me that He's there, but in the end, I choose to do what I want. This is what I'm not a Calvinist because they believe that salvation was already predestined. To say that something is predestined implies that someone has made a decision to do so. We are not predestined for salvation, however we may be predestined for great and amazing things by God's will. Take it how you will, but reformed Christians believe that we have choice for everything in our life. Finally, to say that God is "testing" us is a loose term. God does not have to test us to see our faith. However, if God were to intervene at every horrible time in our life, then he would not be a God. He'd be something more of a chauffeur. God doesn't intervene in our lives until it's absolutely necessary. (Divine intervention) Example, if you are a recovering drug addict, God is going to be there to watch over you, he's just not going to help you because you need to get through it yourself. In other words, "tough luck." It might seem pessimistic, but it's actually a great thing. God promises that whatever we fall into, the water only goes neck-high. All the shitty things that might happen and all the horrible things that will happen in life will be painful. However, it's all for your own good. You will come out a wiser and stronger person. Medicine is always bitter. |

someone smokes a lot of weed indubitably. Why would God create harmful plants if He knew that we would turn them into drugs? He must have wanted us to pollute our bodies and die sooner than we had to. He said himself that He is a jealous god. I guess He just wants to spend every minute he can with us. Eternity isn't enough? |

indubitably. Why would God create harmful plants if He knew that we would turn them into drugs? He must have wanted us to pollute our bodies and die sooner than we had to. He said himself that He is a jealous god. I guess He just wants to spend every minute he can with us. Eternity isn't enough? Too much of anything is a sin. Even too much of coffee can kill you. Keep that in mind. Now, I believe marijuana should be used as a drug and not so much of a recreational thing. (Though I will admit that I smoke for recreational use a lot.) Everything in this world has been created for our use. Marijuana is just the smoking of the bud of the plant. Heroine, cocaine, etc., etc., has been chemically synthesized to produce the opiate-like effects. This is obviously quite different to what God's given to us in terms of natural and organic. Basically, everything is for our use because God has given man dominion over the world. This is why we must use what God has given us for good things. (Also, we're supposed to be "green" because that's also taking care of the world, another Christian doctrine.) Also, being jealous seems to have a negative connotation towards many people. This is incorrect. God is righteously jealous because he wants us to stay away from the grips of Sin. Sin can be deadly and can even kill you. God is jealous because he wants us to stay out of harm's way. Not to mention, the concept of time is very short especially in terms of human age. 60 years and blat, you're f*cking dead. Life is very, very short. That's why God so earnestly wants us to stay away from sin as much as possible. It's cancer. He knows it's bad for us and is eventually going to kill us. Finally, everything is this world has a potential for good. I won't go into much detail, but here's a quote that applies to your argument. "I think that technology is morally neutral until we apply them. It's only when we use them for good or evil that they become good or evil" Sorry to pull a CoD4 quote. -final edit Now, I'm not condoning the use of marijuana or anything. I mean, I wouldn't want my sister to smoke it, nor would I want my daughter to smoke it. But that has nothing to really do with how the Federal Government and the DEA handle it. Pot smoking should be a moral issue, not a legal issue. I don't know if I want pot to be legalized AKA commercialized, but I do believe that it should be decriminalized. There's too many patients with AIDS and cancer who have gone to prison for having a little bit of kush. That is f*cked up. |

in other words, everything is relative I think so. I wouldn't argue that truth was relative, but I really do think everything else can be relative. Guns can be used for great things and they can be used for horrible things. So can drugs. Because... I'm not going to lie, I thought of some epic ass shit when I was stoned out of my mind. |

Using "because He is testing .... blah blah blah" is contradictory, therefore incorrect. Right? Makes sense to me.. So can you tell me why God creates gays? Homosexual temptations? Simple... they're temptations. It is you who needs to figure out right from wrong and to either give into those wrongful temptations or submit to God and refrain from the temptations And what do you mean we can't even say that God tests anyone? Ya... He already knows you're gonna choose option A. AND B. It is you who either chooses to pass the test or fail the test (A. or B.). We're being tested every single nano second of our lives... consciously and subconsciously. indubitably. Why would God create harmful plants if He knew that we would turn them into drugs? He must have wanted us to pollute our bodies and die sooner than we had to. He said himself that He is a jealous god. I guess He just wants to spend every minute he can with us. Eternity isn't enough? Free will. We have the free will to become chemist and choose to use our knowledge for the greater good or evil. It is US who discover these types of creations and it is us who choose how to use them. Free will. |

lawl the same people who were the pioneers, inventors, scientists, mathematicians etc.. I'll give you pioneer, because all that means is someone who is the first to do something, but if you can name any religious inventor, scientist, or mathematician, you get a cookie. |
