Has anyone heard of crowdSPRING? My dad showed me the site the other day because he's all excited about the fact that I make money from designing (not sure why...maybe 'cause I can pay for my own stuff now). It's really competitive, but if you have skills I imagine you could make a lot of money. I know a lot of people here are looking to get their name out there and earn some cash, so I thought it would be useful.

I would enter more designs myself, but I don't have the time (or heart) to make things like that just to have them rejected.

I signed up, even though I'm not so good at designing. I'm looking at some of the simpler projects, though. Thank you Gabi :3

Wow that's so cool. I don't think my designs will win but it's worth a shot.

It is a little intimidating.. I mean when you look at all the designs that are already posted for projects you're thinking about entering. It's like, "Okay.. Should I even try?" D: But I guess if you don't try, you'll never win anyways, right..?

The extra money would be nice.. :B I'm registering right now, and, wow.. The page you get after you sign up is interesting, and so is the e-mail they send you. lol..

Some of intimidation is a little deceiving, though. When it says there are 200 entries for something, a lot of them are duplicates. People like to submit multiple versions of the same design. If the person doesn't like it in general, a different color isn't going to help.

Yeah, and actually, I went through some of the entries, and I know for the one that had the prize of $1500, a lot of the designers didn't even read what the people wanted in their add. They said they didn't want certain things and people put them in their anyways. So I guess we can rely on people not following the directions of the projects, too, haha..

So I guess, if you're going to submit something, make sure you read the specifications of what the people want..

Well, it pretty much is. They don't try and cover that up. You know full well that you may be doing work for nothing before you even make anything. I'm sure there are clients on there that seriously would pay the promised amount if you won, and of course there will be some that might rip you off. It's the chance you take.

'any job for which the client expects to see examples or a finished product before agreeing to pay a fee.'
