Hey Gays, If they refuse to inseminate you, go to another clinic! If they refuse to take pictures of you, go to another photographer! If they refuse to counsel you, go to another counselor! |

But it's ok for the church to push their views on everyone else? That's my point. The church has long transcended the line of church and state. The church is the sub-establishment that acts as a government in its own right. The gay community is only returning the favor (no pun intended), because they have every right to be heard. I think that it is a little petty, because by pushing their beliefs on the church they're doing exactly what organized religion is doing to the general public; controlling the masses. |

In fact, I feel the same way about blacks! Hey blacks, If they refuse to let you into their school, go to another school! If they refuse to serve you a soda, go to another soda fountain! If they refuse to let you drink at their water fountain, go to another water fountain! If they refuse to let you sit in the front of the bus, go to the back of the bus! |

You guys really believe that private individuals don't have the right to refuse service at their discretion? And you believe the government has the authority to force people to go against their conscience?
What a world we live in. |

Well, isnt female/male a gender, and blacks/whites/hispanics an ethnicity? So, thats something that you for sure cannot discriminate against. Its set into stone and we know for a fact that we are born with a certain gender and ethnicity. But why are people gay? Have we proven there is a gay gene? Is it that they are born this way or that there is, in fact, a gay gene? The last time I checked, we are still not sure.
So, christians dont believe in homosexuality, so why should they be sued because they refuse to cater to gays? Its their religion and the way the live their lives, so why should they have to shove their beliefs under the rug and do something just because a gay person refuses to go to another person? Its absurd to say that I, or any other christian or person of any religion, would refuse service to a black person or a woman. Please dont use the homo/hetero, woman/man, black/white argument. With this hate bill that was passed recently, its like I cannot discriminate against a gay person but they can discriminate against my religious beliefs. This is a free country. And if we start making hate bills for everyone who gets picked on our rights and freedoms are going to straight out the window. |

What's mind boggling is the double standard. Gays and pro-gays want everyone to accept homosexuality... if not we're considered homophobes and bigots.
People are going to have to accept that everyone is different. We don't NEED to like anything just because you do or you say we should. That's just silly. |

People are going to have to accept that everyone is different. We don't NEED to like anything just because you do or you say we should. That's just silly. That's great, except that homophobes aren't accepting that everyone is different, and they're encouraging political policies (such as Proposition 8 in California) that actively alienate a whole group of people. No one says that you have to like homosexuality, just that you should accept the fact that people are different, that homosexuals aren't doing anything to personally harm you, and there's no need to treat them as second-class citizens that don't have the same rights as heterosexuals. (I actually don't think that churches should be forced to marry gays, either, but that's because I have a strongly libertarian view on personal rights, and I feel that the government shouldn't be involved in marriage at all -- I feel that every union should be a civil union. But that's another discussion.) |
