Read this----

http://www.popeater.com/movies/article/zac...remake%2F393590

What does everyone think about this?

I didn't know they were going to remake Footloose until now and am glad that Zac is not going to act in it anymore cause I think he would not be good for the part.
AND I don't think they should remake it at all!!

I think its a smart move on his part. If he wants to be taken seriously then he doesn't need to do those types of movies.

Like I was reading GQ and Robert Pattison is covered in it. He talks about how he doesnt want to be the typical teen hearthrob that he's become and so he's doing this kind of Bromance kinda of indie movie that has some homosexual tinges in it.

either way hes a hearthrob to someone tongue.gif

^ If you're talking about the movie Little Ashes, it is so not a bromance thing; it's a full out homosexual romance.

I just read about this on Wikipedia/IMDB today... I think it's going to be really weird. Footloose is such a classic dance movie, and Zac Efron (despite how popular he is right now) doesn't exactly seem like he'd be able to fill Kevin Bacon's big shoes (harharhar).

^Agree I don't think he would able to fill Kevins part either.

So, uh... Zac Efron's not gonna be in Footloose anymore! He apparently wants to take a break from musicals. biggrin.gif

But now it's rumoured that either Chace Crawford or Derek Hough will star as Ren. Uh, no and no.

I don't really understand what the point of trying to get away from musicals is. Everyone's always going to know him as the guy from High School Musical. I don't think he's going to be one of those actors who can step away from that.

I think it's pretty understandable why he wouldn't want to be a part of Footloose. I mean, he's already been in big-budget remake of a musical (btw, very disappointed he played the supposedly super-hot Link), so him starring in another one would just be asking people to typecast him, y'know? Sure, he'll always be known as the Disney dude from HSM1/2/3, but there's really no harm in trying out different things while he's on top.
