Finally just finished the base of designing and coding the very first layout for my portfolio, and I thought I'd pop it in here for questions, comments & critique. Live view here, but all the links are dead except the Artist page so don't do the clicking thing (404!). I still need to validate, crossbrowser check, move and reference the stylesheet and JavaScript, blah blah, so sorry if the source is icky.
You know how on some sites have navigation where there's three styles of background - plain link, hovered link, and a highlight for the page you're currently on? Any way to do that with the navigation I currently have? All the pages will be hand coded, so if I have to move a teeny bit of code and swap one image for every active page that's okay. EDIT: Changed the site title colour, think it looks much better. Added a little < home > navigation, too. ^.^ This post has been edited by HeartOfPandora: Feb 22 2009, 03:01 PM |

I like the color scheme and theme, but why does the navigation have to be so lengthy and close together?

@Beenley: I'm not one for the runaround "go here click this then read this and click to get to this..." It's straightforward, though I'll admit it is kind of long. Just a personal preference, I guess.
@Divergent: I guess my internet was just being laggy? It's working fine now. |

I think it's pretty as well. I'm just not really feeling the font color you chose for your site name up top because it sort of clashes with the leaves behind it. But it's lovely.

I like the layout but the spiral looks a bit blurry/low quality, I also don't like the font that is used.

I really love this (: The only thing I would change is the color/texture of the site header, it doesn't blend with the rest of your template.

@Forgive: which font?
@Elletricity: It is kind of icky, but I can't get any other colours to work! They all either blend or have nothing to do with the layout. :( Any suggestions? |

The font used for the site title and the links on the side.
'Cause the layout gives off a secret, secluded kind of feel but the font makes it feel kind of grungy and dirty. I don't know, maybe it's just me though. |
