I personally found this film beautiful; the cinematography was beautiful and I loved the cast. I thought they were all perfect and I loved that the kids they picked were actually believable when compared to the "adult" ones. I don't get why you, OR the critic, have so much hate for this movie?

don't you think the movie is reduced to a fairy-tale'd disney crock when it is completely engulfed by a love story? don't you think the movie looks like a jeans commercial? don't you think the entire thing is designed to be as easily digestible as possible? don't you think, when the film is pushed to its limits, it is not only nonsensical, but contrary?

i mean, it's a movie about poverty... and the success of the protagonist is characterized in the winning of money? didn't his brother die in a bathtub full of money? uhmmm?

or is actually thinking about the movie you watched too hard for you?

People have their own opinions, & i totally respect it, it's fine. I thought the movie's incredible. I liked how there was no big-named actors, the story, plot, screenplay & direction just captured everything. It has an excellent chance of winning more than 2 Oscars. Me & my dad are literally glued to the TV until Sunday's Academy Awards show. Can't wait~

Slumdog was so good, very sentimental to funny and a great relief at the end. Such a rollercoaster of emotions, wonderful movie. I def. recommend!

Boyle, when asked why he had chosen a project so different from his usual material, answered that he had never been to India and knew nothing about it, so he thought this project was a great opportunity. Listening to him, I imagined an Indian film director making a movie about New York low-life and saying that he had done so because he knew nothing about New York and had indeed never been there. He would have been torn limb from limb by critical opinion. But for a first world director to say that about the third world is considered praiseworthy, an indication of his artistic daring. I enjoyed the movie, its not something that I would go out of my way to tell people to watch. And I don't really think its full deserving of so many awards as well but whatever. It was good watch, if your bored pick it up.
