Well your point was that MIcrosoft was the clear cut winner against Sony. However, I refuse to believe a company with a rig that doesn't work is better than a solid one with blu-ray

As if Sony's hardware is significantly better. Remember the widespread problem with the PS2's optical drive, which caused it to slowly fail over time? Hell, my roommate's PS2 experiences disc read errors over 50% of the time when trying to load a game.

This is true. In all honesty, everyone I know who owns a PS2 has either had a disk drive issue or had to buy a whole new system. In some cases, multiple times. I had to buy a second one. At least Microsoft is giving you a brand new Xbox 360 in return for free. That's why I've never understood PS3TARDS case about the Xbox failure rate. PS2 was Sony's second console. Xbox 360 is Microsoft's 2nd console. It's a learning process. One that I'm confident will be corrected next gen.

There was an article I read a year back that talked about Sony always bragging about how big sales are for the PS2, but they never mention the failure rate and what a large percentage of those sales are people having to rebuy a PS2 after their first, even second PS2 crapped out. I've no idea where that article is now, but I will most certainly look for it.

Oh, and that PS3TARD crack isn't referring to anyone here. I just like using it to rag on fanboys. I don't like any kind of fanboy. 98% of them are ignorant beyond comprehension.

NOPE, I don't remember because as I recall it didn't effect nearly as much as people RROD(jk, I do remember but you get my point). However, I will say that the PS3 has its own problem, the YLOD. But, that also happens rarely.

Thats ironic, cause I never knew anyone that had to get their PS2 replaced. I guess its just perspective. Yeah so what, if they are on their 2nd console, still 2009, they've been in business long enough to know a lot of eyes are on them. Microsoft also knew they had a problem, but they didn't fix it or rather refuse to double check. I can't pull up the article though.

I'm not defending Sony either. They are full of shit. Constant promises never fulfilled, and all the exclusives lost. When FFXIII was announced for the 360, I was seriously thinking that I should've bought an Xbox.

Guess so. Yeah, I know. After all the heat Microsoft has been taking, I'm sure they've realized where they went wrong. In all honesty, I think they were trying to keep the price down, so they probably didn't use the best hardware out there. It worked. People who couldn't afford a PS3 went with the 360 and got hooked.

Well good I'm glad you realize that 'cause that's my biggest beef with Sony. I honestly think the PS3 is not a bad system itself. It's just in the wrong hands. I don't respect Sony as a company. I loved my PS2 and I hated the first Xbox. Sony promised this console that people dream about, called it the PS3 and I was sold. I'm just glad I didn't buy it at launch 'cause I was seriously let down after all that bullshit. So, I went with the 360 'cause everyone was raving about it and I love the thing. Best console I have ever owned.

You don't even have a 360? If you can afford it, I think you should pick one up. The hardware issues are over with. Like I said, that was just the first batch of consoles made. They even started using better disk drives in the newer ones. It's best to have both. I assure you, you won't regret it. Most developers always say they go with the 360 because it's easier to design for, and you get the same results. Hence the reason the 360 has been the choice for exclusives. Not to mention Microsoft loaning money to keep it that way, but still. Not to mention the user base is double that of the PS3. That's why a lot of PS3 exclusives go multiplatform. It's all about $$$ son.

Well If I were to get an Xbox, it'll have to be the pro bundle cause the arcade one sucks ass. Then a one year fee of Xbox live would total 349.99 which is about 50 dollars off from a low end PS3, which I can not afford right now

You know, I'll be honest, I loved my Gamecube. Had some great exclusives. Resident Evil, Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Super Smash Bro. Melee, Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem, Metriod Prime, Killer 7, Viewtiful Joe, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Paper Mario, Super Monkey Ball, just to name a few. Man. Great system. It was actually more powerful than the PS2 and Xbox. I don't know why it wasn't really taken advantage of, except in RE4. Also games like Soul Caliber 2 and NBA Street Vol. 2 were better on the GCN.

Anyone who didn't think the Gamecube was a great console either didn't have one, or just doesn't know what they're talking about.

Yea gamecube was a good console to get.
it was fun to use and the fact that anyone could play it kinda helped mainly cause u'd get that family air on things thats the thing i like bout Wii also it encompasses everyone so in ma fam it kinda brings evryone togeter since everyone and they baby cousin and grandma can play.

now between ps3 and xbox360
i'd choose the ps3
mainly cause one it's an entire entertainment system in itself.
i can go online
play movies/blu-ray DVD, store large amounts of info and other things like music and what not, remote play off my psp, connect to other computers in my networks, stream videos and stuff online and it works pretty quick. Also i can play my PS2 games off it and get my ps1 games DL to it as well.

Xbox 360 i don't wanna pay for xbox live mainly cause that's alot of cash.
The way i see it is once you get a PS3 the cost is high but afterwards you're good
as long as you take care of your console it should last you

my PS2 i only bought one and it's lasted me 7 years.
Everyone Iknow has only had one PS2 where as the xbox always had complaints on breakin down.

it all comes down to how well you take care of your system.
Also the disc reading error that only really occured when the CD was Damaged but other wise it's fine

So with me for family fun an dentertainment i go with the Wii
where as for entertainment and personal interest I go with Sony's PS3/PSP

Xbox live isn't that expensive. And the PSP was the worst piece of shit Sony ever released.

I had drive issues with my first PS2 after one year of owning it. My second PS2 broke after 7 years, and I'm on my third one right now.

I actually play my PS2 more than my PS3, but I definitely prefer the PS3 over the 360. I'm a graphics nut.

Wow. Ok, I thought that too for the first couple months I had it. But I quickly realized PSP sucks balls. UMD failed, online play failed, control failed, everything about that stupid thing failed. And there's a total of maybe 5 good games and it's how old now? Like father, like son, I guess. Mine has been collecting dust for literally over a year. I'm not even sure where the damn thing is, or else I'd try and scam some little kid out of $250.

UMD is a little slow, i guess, which the slim tried to correct. it's not something that bothers me; i have both slim and old, and i even prefer the original. yes, i would like more infrastructure play, but i'm actually satisfied with the adhoc.

as for games, i love all of mine. '09 has a kickass lineup, but i'm mostly waiting for: phantasy star portable, ff dissidia (us version), ff agito, monster hunter freedom unite (YAYAYAYA!!), prinny, samurai showdown anthology, galactrix, resistance retribution (eh maybe).

Listen, I'm happy you own something you enjoy, but if you enjoy the PSP that much, I can't imagine how you'd feel about, you know, a gaming platform that's worth a shit. You should definitely try something else. Seeing how you're so invested in a handheld of all things, I'm guessing that's the only kind of gaming platform you own. Or, at least, the newest kind you own.

You f*ckin' idiot lol. I didn't suggest either or. I'm simply saying the kid obviously likes video games and he should take it to the next level. Then maybe he'll see why we all think the PSP is a piece. Hell, I'd rather have a DS than a PSP. I'm just waiting for a DSi.

Its personal opinion, I can stand here yapping about how the PS3 is a better hardware than XBox, but you wouldn't agree. Btw, Queen is a girl.
