Working on cB layout Rating Options

Well, I was thinking of making a new cB layout so I wipped something up last night and just figured I would get some c&c on it. What do you think of it? Should I add more or remove some? Maybe edit some text or something? Thanks.

I actually like it a lot, but there are a couple things that bother me. For one, I think the grey totally dulls the layout. I think a white gradient might look better. Also, I'm not a fan of the rainbow divider between the friends and comments. Everything looks so weathered and worn, and that's so clean. It doesn't fit.

Make the content area a dark white, like eeeeee (just something more white than gray) I would just get rid of the divider all together. And maybe try and put the same brushes or texture on "MikePLyts" that you did on the content area.

I don't know, it's ok I guess.

Edit: Looking at your past layouts this is a really big improvement.

Make the rainbow divider white.
And i like the texture you used in the content.

Make the divider dark grey, not white.

And I don't like those weird Bump maps you used on the text. Other than that, it's pretty cool.

its more colorful than your other layouts. but the friends and the border overlay for the comments make's it look a little on the rainbow pride side if you know what I mean, but definately more color and better than your other layouts :]

I like the whole layout of the layout but you used too many rainbow colors, imo. Like I think the brushes & "MIKEPLYTS" look good in rainbow but the things in the content area that are in rainbow become too much. I think the gray looks fine. Just make it lighter, I guess. And yeah lose the divider. I like it though.

Do you think it would look better if I made the "Friends" and "Comment" headers dark like the other text in the "Criticizing is easy, art is difficult" header?

Also, I may make the divider a bit darker and greyish and maybe even a bit transparent. Do you think that would look better? Oh, and what if I added some sort of "dirty" or grungy texture on the "Mikeplyts" header?

If you add a gradient do it seperately and use background-repeat:repeat-x;
and do a light grey to white.

Oh, and what if I added some sort of "dirty" or grungy texture on the "Mikeplyts" header?I think that would be weird. When I see your layout, I get a sort of arts feeling from it. And if you mix some grunge into it, it doesn't really match.

final verdict. everything shoul stay the same but...
make the "gay" divider dark grungy grey.
Make the comments and friends words look the same as the whole criticizing thing.

Ok, well I'll edit it some more tommorow. Oh, and Nat, I was making it on a white background, but then I deleted the white background to make it transparent.

I don't like the gray area, everything is so colorful except that. If you're going for the colorful and a contrast then that gray is a bad choice. A lighter gray would make it better.

And I agree, the font in the content area is a bad choice. Maybe use the same font as the MIKEPLYTS.

Honestly, I don't like it. And I'm not trying to be extremely harsh, but there are just so many colors in such large areas. Also, the fonts don't match, and the grey is just...grey. It's too stark against the exploded rainbow.

I like it but feel that the black is too dark for the layout if you know what I mean. But it's better than your first.
