Thomas (divergent) explained storage, so bandwidth is basically your traffic, the more visitors you have the higher the traffic and the more pages you have the higher the traffic (if people click on those pages) usually 1GB isnt much, but you only have 100MB of space, which dosent do much either, so they balance out :]

Its not alot.
Instead buy a domain witch you can get for like 10 bucks a year and
go with tiny hosting with Tiger-Space hosting and pay an extra 5 bucks for unmetered bandwidth.
So thats 16 bucks a year for all the space and bandwidth youll need.
Kevin:
Is it an extra 5 bucks a month or a year for unmetered bandwidth?

it really depends on what you're doing with your site and how big you expect it to become. for my own website, i typically get around 500 visitors a day. i also host the images i use in my designs on my own server, and i have a fairly popular script for download. all of what i have, and i still haven't reached 100MB (i've gone just past halfway), and i'm just over 1GB bandwidth each month.

for your questions, though, you've answered them yourself. 100MB is your storage, and 1GB is your bandwidth.

most places oversell space and bandwidth. if you don't know what you need, start off small. you'll always be able to upgrade later if you need to.

100 will be enough if you encode the images so they show up client side, and not pack up your server.
