Hmm so I have to make a decision on where I am going to college next year. I got accepted to one University close to where I live, but since it's so close, I'd probably have to live at home, which I don't really want to do. The other school is about 1hr and 43mins away. Both are good schools, I guess, only thing is I want to .. ha this is going to sound lame .. not be so far away from my boyfriend?
So some advice would be great on helping me make a decision. |

Go to the school you got accepted to and just live with your boyfriend while you're going to school. You don't have to live with your parents.. or even SEE your parents; just go live with a friend or get an apartment together ?

^Well assuming that she HAS to live with her parents, hence the statment that going to said uni=parents...
Anyway, I'd say go to the school YOU want to go to. This is your life, you shouldn't base a decision as important as college on your boyfriend. How long have you two been together? And please, less than 2 hours is nothing. Sorry, but if you can't make it work when you are that close, get a new boyfriend. |

Choosing to go to a school because of a significant other is always a bad idea. I hear so much about girls who decided to go to a college because their boyfriend went their or because their boyfriend moved to the area where the school is. Go where you want to go. There are positives and negatives to both staying with your parents and moving far away, weigh them out.

Don't decide on a college because of you want to be with your boyfriend!! That's a bad decision.

Well, which is the better school? What's better for your future? Which location would allow you to remain focused? Right now, you have to be a little selfish.

you may live closer to that university, but it doesn't mean you can't stay on campus and hang around. there's a lot of things to do at a university. Set yourself up with clubs or events at school and or get more hours at work/get a job. It'll take up your time and you'll be away from home enough and still be with your boyfriend.

I agree! Right now is the time to be selfish and not the time to let love dictate what is one of the 3 - 4 major decisions of your life.

thanks for the advice, it really helped.
i really think i knew what i wanted, but i was afraid to pursue it, just because of the relationship. but i'm going to go to the university further away, because it's where i want to go, not where the relationship is. thanks again :) |

Stay at home... I would much rather have a free roof over my head and free meals from my parent then to be away from my parent and have to pay extra to have food in my mouth and a roof over my head. |
