Brad Pitt on the motorcycle = best shot
Yeah, I still can't decide which version of the story I like better - the Fitzgerald version or the movie version. They're both amazing in their own ways... but I guess they're not really comparable because they're just so different. One mostly focuses on Benjamin's undying love for Daisy, and the other kind of gives more information (?) about his daily life (from what I remember anyway). |

He did look pretty good there, but the girls behind me were joygasming half the time after Brad Pitt started looking younger. >_> The short story seems a little bland after viewing the film, partly because the film has all this exciting stuff that doesn't happen in the original text (e.g. the war thing with the Irish captain). Benjamin does fight in a war in the story, but you don't get to read much about what happens there, only what occurs when he returns home and Hildegarde is 40 and that depresses him. I enjoyed both the short story and the film, so I'm just leaving it at that. I'd drive myself crazy trying to compare the two since they have so little in common. |
