I dunno. Sometimes IMDB will go with defaults (like copying current cast members and pasting them into the sequels).
I've been seeing "Summit announces" blurbs regarding Jacob casting and have yet to find a press release (on the Summit site at least) regarding Jacob Black. Maybe I missed something. I saw this site but for f*cks sake, they put Kristen Bell's name in the article instead of Stewart's. |

but wait, jacob is still normal jacob at the beginning of new moon. because he goes to the movies with bella and mike and then he gets sick and becomes a wolfy dude. so it totally makes sense that he would still have some parts, right?
either way, i can't find it. i do remember something about scorpion king, so i was probably wrong. |

Yeah, I get that (regarding Jacob's initial New Moon appearance) but Jacob doesn't entirely change. I find it odd for him to start off as one actor and evolve into a completely different actor. haha
Also, to shannlovin, what don't you get? Look at #1 in his filmography. |

but i do believe it's true, that taylor can not fit jacob's part. if you see all the interviews of Taylor Launter, he says he's like the soft human side of Jacob Black. or I play the nice human non-wolf, Jacob Black. his voice is like too cute to play mean Jacob. lol (x |

got the news from Stepheniemeyer.com "Good news about New Moon from director Chris Weitz: I'm very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he's doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer. The characters in Stephenie's books go through extraordinary changes of circumstance and also appearance; so it is not surprising that there has been speculation about whether the same actor would portray a character who changes in so many surprising ways throughout the series. But it was my first instinct that Taylor was, is, and should be Jacob, and that the books would be best served by the actor who is emotionally right for the part.
