Yeah, so in high school, I've had an obsession with collages and thought it would be awesome to try and make my nails into a collage of magazine clippings. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to try it out until now... with finals over with and a stack of free Nylon Magazines that UrbanOutfitters sent me, I got to work.

Thank you:

and

and white nail polish that turned out to be pretty shitty, here's my first attempt.

Major failure sad.gif. Because I didn't wait hours for the white to dry, I ended up smudging it when i pressed on the magazine covers.

So I removed that ASAP and started again, this time without the white.

here's a non-flash of my right hand:

and just for funnn:

hehe.

I feel like a kid again.

Have you ever tried the nail-collage thing? Post yours uppp.

It looks so cool, I really wanna try that :D
I have shaky hands though. My finger nails would look like crap if I did it by myself.

they are more pretty than they are practical.

for one, you need to be really, really generous with the clear polish if you want it to not start flipping up. also, even if you're generous with the clear polish, water always finds some way to get inside and make the clippings wet, which also sucks a lot.

they were pretty for two days and then started falling off, so I'm just gonna peel them all off. sad.gif

This looks amazing. Maybe if you put the clippings under acrylic it might now get wet? I thin I'm going to try this.

How exactly did you do it with out smudging? Do you do a base, wait for it to dry, then put on the clippings? If so, how did you get the clippings to stick without a wet base? Cuz I don't see any nail glue up thurr.
