So I bought all the books last night and i finished twilight a hour or so ago. I probably would have finished sooner but I had work last night and stuff. These books are extremely easy to read, I figured they would take me longer than a few hours for being 500 pages or 400 something like that.

Anyway I am extremely disappointed by the movie now that I've read the book.
I hope they get a better director and screen writer this time around for New Moon, I heard that they weren't expecting it though and that they we're finishing the movie in 12 weeks and it would come out next year around thanksgiving.

I don't know how much truth is in that though, someone that Josh works with that is obsessed with these books and stuff was telling me yesterday. But of course I saw somewhere that the movie wasn't even planning to come out until 2010.

^I love your icon, I just want to steal it. :D

DUDE.

New Moon will come out November 20, 2009.

A YEAR! Nope, Holly you were right. In just a year. They better not eff up New Moon. It isn't that hard to eff up. Unless you change them from changing into wolves to like...eagles.

I dont know what to say to this.

And Holly, my icon? The Chair/Bluck one?

Yes, I love Chuck and Blair :D

And I don't know about New Moon, I've heard that so many people are expecting it to be horrible. I haven't read the book yet so once I do I'm sure I can't see them messing it up. Although I read Twilight and I just can't see how they changed around some things, it would have been easy and I still think it could have been budget friendly to do the things that we're by the book instead of things they put in the movie.

Who knows though, I hope for the best, especially since I'll be paying around $15 to see the next one >_> damn new york for high prices.

Haha seeing it here would have been around $4.

Wait, you pay $15 to see a movie? Good god. It wasn't worth that much.

They always change things claiming that it'll make it better. But read New Moon, Holly! I think that one was my favorite. Eh, next to Eclipse.

And I love Chuck/Blair. They're so adorable and perfect for eachother. [/fangirl moment

i just saw this movie. i wasn't very impressed.

i thought bella and edward kinda sucked at being bella and edward. i thought the cullens and charlie played their parts way better than the rest. charlie was probably my favorite really. i thought the imagery was good...cullen's house, bella's house, mountains, overall scenery and junk like that.
the story was choppy and incoherent imo. if you didn't read the book i'd think you'd be confused. there's too much unspoken dialogue in bella's head in the book that didn't translate well at all over on screen imo. plus i also thought there was no sense of time. it seemed like one day she got there, within in a couple days they were in love, then a few days later they were running from james. it just seemed rushed and didn't make it very clear how drawn out some things were in the book.
yeah
not that i care about twlight or anything seasonal0.gif

Did you read the book?

I went to see the movie with about 5 people who didnt read the book and they loved it and they didnt feel like it was choppy or rushed.

I think people who did read the book felt that way because they were comparing it.

Oh, and the official release date is November 20, 2009 ... for New Moon.

Oh I'm reading all of the books, they are really easy to read. I mean I read twilight in a few hours so I'm sure I can read the rest the same Although I'm going to keep the last two for the airport, because I'm going to be sitting in terminals all day Christmas. haha.

And yea in New York movies are typically around that much, but in NC its typically around $4.

I never really heard anything about twlight except from my cousins and my aunt loved the movie but my cousin who read the book wasn't impressed so I downloaded it to be honest *shrug

So once I'm done I'll be sure to decide which is my favorite. :D

if they are changing lautner for another actor to play jacob black i hope it's someone with less flashy teeth; since everytime that lautner kid was on the screen and talking- all i was looking at was his whitener enhanced teeth.

HAHA. Yeah, he's adorable but he's also a walking advertisement for Crest Whitening Strips.

if lautner could buff up and get tall enough by the time they start shooting...then they wouldn't change him. they're not changing jacob's actor because they didn't like taylor or anything, it's only because he physically cannot play the roll. we all know that, correct? i just don't understand why so many people are freaking out over it...pinch.gif

If they replace him, I'm supporting Steven Strait because, DAMN. And bonus, he could pass for an older Lautner.

Do they plan on making other movies? Do they plan on having better screen writers? I was really irked by the whole mood of this movie, but of course I haven't read the books yet so I wouldn't know what 'mood' is supposed to be in the movie.

All the books will be made into movies, I think.

they found a new director! it's the guy from golden compass.. that's all i know !

Really? Although The Golden Compass is totally incomplete at the end (a LOT more stuff happens in the book), it's so prettily done. I liked it.

New York City? It's about that much for general admission most theaters, but I know of one that's under $10. shifty.gif It's where I saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

heh i never saw golden compass, but my father and brother said it was pretty alright. hmph, Chris says he's planning on trying to make it good (:

"Dear fans of Twilight, New Moon, Bella, Edward and Jacob,

In the past few days I have been involved in a whirlwind romance with Stephenie Meyers' extraordinary books.

And I am very grateful to have received her permission to protect New Moon in its translation from the page to the screen.

For fans of the books and of the film of Twilight, this may come as an unexpected twist. So I want to write briefly to try to put you at ease, and to give you reason to hope for and expect the best.

For the last decade of my career as a director, I have chosen to make adaptations of complex and involved works of literature. This has always begun with the love of a book and its characters, story, and theme; and it has always involved a respect of and responsiveness to the feelings of other people who loved those books.

When I saw the film of Twilight, I was alternately entranced and left hungry for more. I was also struck by the extraordinary passion for the characters, story and theme that was evident in the people sitting in the seats around me. My job is to live up to that devotion.

Like many of you, I am a fan of Catherine Hardwicke's work. I can't really say much about why she is not doing New Moon because I wasn't involved in those decisions. But I can say that I will devote myself to making the very best and most faithful version of New Moon that can be brought to the screen. To those who doubt that as a male director I can capture Bella's experience, I can only say that emotion is universal and that my work has often involved working with some of the most talented actresses in the world.

For the rest, the proof will have to be in the pudding. But I promise to remain responsive to your hopes and fears.

I thank you for this opportunity and for your faith.

Very best,

Chris Weitz"

*writes letter to producers*
*stalks to producers*
*begs the film gods*

...for Steven Strait.

He was actually my first choice for Jacob, but I felt ok about the Taylor since he fit the age of Jacob in Twilight. However, for some of the juicy stuff that happens in Eclipse, dear LORD... please cast Steven. That is all.

New Moon grew on me the second reading. I was so wrapped up into the Edward thing that I just couldn't get past the lack of o' sparkly one in the book. For some reason, the more repeat reads I do, the more I like Jacob. Although, I'm still left funkified because of the last book. =/ (sorry for the book ranting, but since there's a chance they might all be film adaptations...)

i don't get the hype with edward. he's such a little girly kind of guy, plus he's overly whipped.

i'd rather be a badass wolf man than some guy with glitter all over him.

^ That's sort of my turn-around stance. I think that when I first started reading the book, I was sorely lacking romance in my life so Edward with the swoon festing shit sort of hit the right spot, at that time. Now things in my life are... hmm, better in that front? hehe Jacob is more for me right now. Warm, strong, agile and good with cars. ;)

yeah i mean edward is just so boring. he doesn't' do anything cool but sit around and stare into bella's eyes and stuff like that. yawn.gif he's just cheesy in general, but so is bella. did they ever do anything cool? not really. at least with jacob she got to jump off cliffs and ride motorcycles and stuff.

JC, you're in denial. :P

I get what you're saying though. Jacob is infinitely a more interesting and better written character than Edward, in my opinion.

I do hope that Jacob isn't slighted in the film in the respect that things are always cut short a bit. He's a main character in that book. If they decide to cut him more to have more Edward, I'll be throwing shit at the screen.

And yes, Kristina. OH YES.
