Check your image mode. The .png format does not support CYMK color mode - so change it to RGB.

^Do you know how to take a screenshot? Look for a key on your keyboard the says something like Prnt Scrn or Print Screen and press it. (you might have hold fn depending on whether what type of comp/laptop you're using.) Then go to MS Paint and paste it then save.

As for the .png problem, I'm not quite sure but try seeing if it's 32 bit colors or 8 bit because I had a similiar problem and I switched it to 8 bit and then it worked so try that. Other then that, try closing out then opening up again or restarting your comp?
