what are your recommendation and preparation after my wisdom teeth are pulled out?
Does it hurt really bad?
How long does the "puffy" face return to its normal size?
Were you able to sleep well at night?
How many wisdom teeth did you pulled out from time to time?

Anyway, nope I haven't gotten mine taken out, but my boyfriend had all 4 taken out. Make sure that your doctor prescribes you pain relievers and antibiotics because the holes can get infected after they remove your teeth.

If you're one of those people who are disgusted with the sound of teeth breaking, you should use the sleeping gas. My boyfriend didn't, so basically he could hear the drill chipping his wisdom teeth and yea... But he didn't mind. It was just weird, but it didn't freak him out.

His face was slightly puffy for a few days. It was kind of cute though. happy.gif

He slept fine at night.

You can't really eat much except maybe for jello or something. My boyfriend couldn't eat much for a week. :[

You should get all 4 taken out at once. It's not something you'd want to experience twice, lol.

Man, my wisdom teeth haven't even grown in at all... I don't want to end up having to remove them when I'm older.

I had my wisdom teeth pulled out like a couple of summers ago! I was so mad that I could not eat my favorite foods. On the other hand I was so happy that the pain was gone from my wisdom teeth growing at an angle into my other teeth. Also since I could barely eat I lost like five pounds.

umm i got all four of my wisdom teeth out i think it was 3 summers ago.

it was kinda terrible but that was because the day after i got them pulled i had to help my sister move into her new dorm.

the part for the blood that you should worry about it is when you break or tair a stitch out it really hurts.

its really nasty having blood with all your food for a week but once it heals you wont notice anything.

i actually liked getting the operation because the whole thing only felt like it took a few minutes, if they put you to sleep you don't feel anything until the medicine wears off, then it hurts.

i say eat soft food and drink cold liquids.

the thing you might hate the most though is that you have to rinse your mouth with warm salt water its really nasty.

i would recommend you do this during a break time.

When you feel any pain and your dentist recommends that you get it out asap, then you should do it! It's only going to get worse. That's like leaving a cavity untreated...

You'll be fine, your face will be puffy for a week. Just don't do anything the doctor says you shouldn't do, and you'll be fine.

Some people's faces don't puff at all. My friend's face was perfectly normal and just make sure you clean the wounds really well or else it'll be very, very gross.

There are so many topics about thissssssss...

When I had mine taken out, I didn't have to take antibiotics, I don't think... =\ Maybe I did, there's a bottle of something upstairs, that might be it. I wasn't prescribed a painkiller though, he told me take large doses of Tylenol (4 = prescription strength).

The amount of bleeding depends on how deep the dentist cuts and if he uses sutures to close the holes. I didn't have sutures; I had to keep gauze in my mouth for a while and not suck so that the blood could properly clot. Generally, though, it wasn't that much bleeding.

And this isn't just something you "do" over the weekend. It's a surgery, albeit a minor one.

yeah it could get very very gross but what I did to prevent that is probably what they are going to tell you. I always swished warm salt water in my mouth it doesn't taste good at all but it helps.

No... why would it? It's not like it's sugar.

I mean gross because it could get infected and when you have an infected cut you get a ton of puss so it would be like a pimple or boil in your mouth. Also warm salt water is really good for open cuts and that is what is in your mouth when you get your wisdom teeth taken out.

Oh and to answer your initial questions

1. Eat as much hard food as possible because it will be a while before you can again. Get allot of your favorite pasta or soft food for when you actually have them taken out too.
2. not really it just feels funny I felt like I couldn't move my jaw!
3. I had a puffy face for like three days but it really depends on you some peoples swelling goes away faster.
4. Yes in fact I believe those nights after the operation where my best nights of sleep ever next to the nights after I had my tonsils taken out. I think it is because you get drugged up!
5. I had all four taken out at once!

All I have to say is relax you will be fine!!! Also if right now you have pain from the angle that the teeth are growing in it will feel much better. I had severe pain before and when they where gone it was a relief. I swear I had a mature tooth growth because I was only sixteen when I got mine taken out and my sister she was eighteen when she got hers taken out.

PS: DO NOT BE FREAKED OUT BE EXCITED THE FASTER YOU GET RID OF THOSE LITTLE BUGGERS THE BETTER!!!
