Whatcha doin with it? Smoking, broiling, frying?

We've got our turkey in a brine solution and shortly we're throwing it into the smoker for about six hours.

umm i don't know. it's the oven sitting there _unsure.gif roasting? it's been there for like an hour and half or something.

i had fried turkey for the first time last year though, it was good but sort of a hassle to have to heat up a huge pot of oil to fry it in.

Yeah frying a turkey is a pain in the ass, but it's gooood. Have y'all had turducken? Idk if that's a southern thing or if it's nation-wide. Basically, you cook a duck chicken and turkey, then stuff the duck inside the chicken, and the chicken inside the turkey, and fry.

edit: Rofl, same time post. You did your turducken wrong, then, brah. That shit's goood.

Anyway, I'm now going to the store to buy eggs and some thick bread, french toast time mmmmm.

My mom is cooking, not me, and she's been working on it way longer than I've been awake this morning. xD

Pretty sure we're just having a small lunch and we're eating actual dinner this evening.

My family is celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday, and we're soaking the turkey in kosher salt and then rinsing it and cooking. I don't know anyone else who does that, but kosher salt retains more water than other salts, so the turkey is really juicey.

I LOL at people who try to fry a 20 pound turkey in a fryer designed for smaller chickens.

These are the people we should not allow to breed
