You don't have to be religious and you don't have to be a big fan of the holidays, but I hope everyone enjoys the company of their loved ones today. If you drink, toss a few back for me. Never take for granted the embrace of love. Eat some good food, drink some brews, watch the game, and take some time to reflect. //The Don

Peace.

I wish you a happy one bro. I'll keep you in my prayers as I do with my other military friends. You already know I'll toss one or fifteen back for you.

Hmm, dinner as I can think of atm consists of:

Smoked Turkey
Jalapeno Stuffing
Jellied Cranberries
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes
Fried Cornish Hen

I'm missing a couple things for dinner, but I'll remember tomorrow when it's time to make it. The turkey is basting overnight in a brine that consists of:

Celery
Green Onions
Regular Onions
About a gallon of water with two cups of sea salt
A cup of brown sugar
Apple juice
andd
A cup of bourbon

Desert:

2x Pumpkin Pies
1x Cherry Pie
1x Lemon Meringue Pie

Oh and I'm cooking all of it :(

Oh yeah how could I forget?! Étouffée and jambalaya!

i doubt im gonna have a good one this year
for 1, i think everyone is juz gonna bug me during our tanxgiving dinner.
i really can't stand my relatives. i know that sounds bad but thats juz the way i feel. the only ppl that i like talkin to in my fam are my cuz jojo, bebe, and jervis. cuz they're the close ones to me and understand me.

2nd: my boyfriend is 60 miles away from me. sad.gif i haven't even seen him yesterday and today and prolly not tomorrow which is gonna suck like hell. cry.gif i can't even talk to him on the fone cuz he forgot his charger at his uncle's place.

I couldn't be happier on this Thanksgiving, a lot has turned around and things are definitely moving in the right direction for me. Hope everyone else spends the holiday with all the right people and has plenty to be thankful for. _smile.gif

After spending 6 hours on a Black Hawk, I got back to my FOB, grabbed a plate to go and I'm enjoying my meal as we speak. I'm eating a little late, but f-ck it, everyone celebrates a little differently. It's weird how I've managed to find peace throughout all of this.

Somebody BETTER be tossing a few brews back for me. Ya dig?

I'm not celebrating Thanksgiving today, but I will be on Saturday. I lucked out because the only things I'm making are two types of rolls, and upside-down cranberry coffee cake, and truffles, raspberry fudge, and Bavarian mints to send home with everyone.

I get to listen to crazy German bitching. It's going to be fun wink.gif
