Are you a really defensive person? When someone says something that offends you in the least bit, do you still jump down their throats? Or are you one of those people who can just let unimportant shit lie?

I used to be the latter, but I've grown to be overly sensitive and defensive. It's not good, but I think it's better than letting people walk all over me like before. But sometimes when someone misunderstands something I say, I try really hard to get them to see what I actually meant, and that makes them think I'm jumping down their throats. Miscommunication sucks.

I'm trying to find a balance between sticking up for myself and being more chill now.

Seriously depends on my mood, and nothing else. If I am PISSED OFF, just back away. If I'm in a good mood, you can pretty much say anything to me and I'll be fine. Generally I try not to be too defensive.

I can be defensive at times. But for the most part I could give a shit less.

It depends how comfortable I am with them.
If I know them well enough, I'm usually quite harsh when I defend myself. Or I take it as a joke.
But if someone I'm not acquainted with insults me, I try to ignore it because I end "Tttt-aallk-iingg like d-d-d-diss bec-cc-ause my voice q-q-q-q-quavers" cuz I'm nervous.

only when I'm in defense mode

naw but I'm used to being critiqued and learned that being defensive usually fails. I may try to "clarify" some things though, ha ha

If they cause me to get mad, they won. If I don't get mad, then I won. That's my philosophy.
