QUOTE Alex Woinski, 13, told WCBS-TV he was inspired to dress up as Jesus Christ because his friends say his shoulder-length brown hair makes him resemble the prophet. The teen completed the getup with sandals, a robe, a fake beard, a sash and thorns. QUOTE The principal of West Brook Middle School said that the boy was sent home because the costume was disruptive to other students. "Children were [asking], where is the boy who is Jesus Christ?" principal Joan Broe told WCBS-TV. "It was disrupting the education process." full story what do you think? do you think sending the boy home was the best thing to do? |

Link doesn't work, mang. Here is a working link.
I don't think it was necessary to send the boy home. I mean it's not like he was offending anyone. And even if he was, I probably ask him to remove the wig or something, but not send him home. |

He shouldn't have been sent home. Freedom of expression, no? i agree he probably shouldnt have been sent home, though maybe it could be a tad understandable because theres the whole teacher policy where they cant spread religion and with all the diversity it might offend? though since it was halloween he shouldnt have been sent home since afterall its just a costume. Notl ike he is trying to convert people. |

If he wasn't trying to convert, it doesn't go against any rule.

...you can't remove the wig if it's his real hair.
That's what the costume is based off of. |

it wouldn't bother me so the act of him taking something off wouldn't come to mind since i`d be fine with the costume.
i was just wondering, why not the crown of thorns? i dont know. just wondering. |

QUOTE I honestly think it was just ridiculously blown up in proportion. This kid in my school last year dressed up as jesus, however less image accurate than the one above, and got creative props on his costume. I agree. And nothing happened, right? |

Big deal. I had shoulder-length hair, too, so I dressed up as Jesus two years running. The only offense the kid made is not growing a real beard, but I'll let it slide because he probably can't.

i couldn't dress like Jesus. It would make me think he'd smack me or something. Kinda creepy, but creative. Best impersonation of Jesus I've seen so far... I think... being as though I never actually saw him...
