I was thinking about this all morning.

To touch on what Michael mentioned about the Bush Administration; that regime created an American mindset of being untouchable and that anything that this country does can/will go unreprimanded. I hope that the same reckless behavior will never be repeated again.

QUOTE
World hopes for 'less arrogant America'

...In Paris, among the more irreverent festivities planned was a "Goodbye George" party to bid farewell to Mr. Bush.

"Like many French people, I would like Obama to win because it would really be a sign of change," said Vanessa Doubine, shopping Tuesday on the Champs-Elysees. "I deeply hope for America's image that it will be Obama."

...Obama-mania was evident not only across Europe but also in much of the Islamic world, where Muslims expressed hope that the Democrat would seek compromise rather than confrontation.

...London Mayor Boris Johnson — a Conservative — felt less constrained about rooting for the liberal Mr. Obama.

"For those who have become disenchanted with America — including many Americans — (Obama) offers the hope of re-igniting the love affair," he said.

exactly, and unfortunately a lot of supporters of McCain failed to see that "big picture". for every reason they liked the man, was one just for their (america's) benefit. imo

I love how as McCain mentioned Obama as he spoke, McCain supporters expressed their disappointment and shouted "Sarah" and "McCain". But when Obama spoke and mentioned McCain there wasn't one expression of disapproval.

While that's true, Obama DID win, so it probably was easier to be more polite about it.

i was kinda nervous when he was giving his speech, flashbacks of assassinations and memories of "vantage point" ensued lol.

I'd like to thank the program "24" for warming americans up to the idea of a black president. thank you 24

I'm pretty damn conservative too, at least economically/politically (minus personal liberty issues, liberalll). Anywho, I can't say him winning really pisses me off as much as I thought it might. I voted McCain, but seeing the reaction from everyone, especially world-wide, I can't help but be happy for the country. I really, really hope, that the rest of the world starts to hate us less. Seems like the cool thing to do has been hate America for the longest time.

Anywho, I hope for the best :D

I know you're conservative. But you don't go off spouting about religion or anti-gay marriage bullshit.
