I've got a question........, about some of the rejected layouts on the new guidelines page. Options

Some of the div overlay layouts that you had on there weren't that bad looking to me.

All of the one's i liked on there would be:

V for Vendetta
I this one I see that the image quality is a tiny bit low but if I liked Vendetta then I would use it.

Narcissim
I don't understand what image in this layout is low. I don't see it on my computer. I'm using ff too.

Penguin Love
In this one I understand that the image quality is low but I would use that layout. I love penguins and this layout is cute.

Medical Mayhem
I don't see anything wrong with this layout. It says there are too many brushes and/or textures but I think it's awesome! I would most definitely use this layout if there were a code.

All I really want to know is why these are deleted.

probably image qulaity, somtimes it may not look like it but i guess they do? though the first one isnt really that bad at all. So the collage doesnt look like there was much time and effort put into it, the image quality is still good

The blending is bad. Also it doesn't... become one with the background.

Narcissism:
The image quality is low. If you look closely, you can see the fuzziness on the image. Also a better font could have been chosen for "Narcissism."

Penguin Love:
It's cute but the edges on the penguins are choppy & not straight. Also, I feel that more can be added to it.

Medical Mayhem:
It's just bad, tbh. I would have used a different font, & the combination of textures & brushes don't really go together.

as much as i am in LOVE with V , the blending is horrible.

the second one, the image button are too low.

the penguins looks idk, blurry, it looks pretty bad

the last one, there's too much brush & texture work.

V. = I dissagree. The image on my screen fits perfectly with the background color. If your talking about the google and myspace search bars showing, SO WHAT. Cb staff here is so picky.

I know schizo already explained but I disagree with the reasons he gave for some of them.

For the 2nd one, Cb staff is going to let something that tiny effect whether it gets accepted or not. LAME

I didn't say it didn't fit the screen perfectly, I said it didn't really blend with the background.

Actually we do have to look at submissions closely because most of the time, something is off or low in quality.

Tbh means "to be honest."

If someone is going through the queue, yes it is up to them what gets accepted & what doesn't but that doesn't mean the decision is final. If another Design Staffer feels that something should be accepted when it was rejected or vice versa, they are more then welcome to bring it up Backstage. We will then discuss it & make a decision.

No, it's just that we actually have standards, unlike other resource sites that let people sign up and automatically have their layouts accepted no matter how good or bad they are.

Then it would take too long for layouts to be accepted or rejected. If most or all of the Design Staff agrees that a layout should be rejected, then it's going to be rejected. We can't accept every layout just because although it's not up to our standards, a few people might still use it. If you really want to, go to the designer's layout MySpace or website and use their layouts that way.

Yeah the V for vendetta was the first try... my screen was pretty dark resulted in the worst layout i have ever made evar.

^ blending still wasn't all that great either.

Medical Mayhem. had too much going on. too much brushes rough cut out of the medial equipment... was just bad.

Narcissism. ended up being coming low quality after the upload, the original wasn't like that.
