add/remove programs shows blank space, help ]: |

i'm not sure if add/remove programs is suppose to be in heree. if it isn't , i'm sorry ;/ but um yeaah ,
my computer's been running hella slow lately , like when i start it up it like starts REALLY SLOWW... &i think its cause i have a lot of programs in my computer , and just now i wanted to remove some programs , but when i opened add/remove programs this huge blank space shows instead of all the programs. something like this: btw i have windows XP. i know , old ]: but yeah . (: oh & i've tried system restore ,doesn't work either. don't use any hard words on me , haha i'm not good at computer type words. i really hope you guys could help ;/ |

=O so its cause of a virus huh!
&yeah i do . i have spybot & norton . for norton , it says i'm at risk =O & i needa "fix it now" . but i keep fixing it [scan & restart computer], & it stays the same >:O |

Yeah I have Norton too & sometimes that happens to me. Do you run the Full Scan or Quick Scan or what? |

the full scan . it takes FOREEVVERR. and then it tells you to restart . and then i run another scan cause it tells me to , and like i keep repeating &repeating . and uurrghh T______T; |

try trend micro's housecall to scan.
also check if there are any programs in your startup folder that weren't there before (start >> all programs >> startup), and disable them. |

it's probably just your norton. i'd uninstall it and use one of them free online scanners like what synkro posted.
check your startup items through 'msconfig' and not through programs menu: start> run> type msconfig choose startup tab uncheck everything but wifi/antivirus if you're confused send me some boob pics and ill fix it for you. |
