ok so i was browing on my menu today on mtv seeing how long the made marathon was going to go and seeing if true life was going to be on
Then i noticed there was this title that said "sex with mom and dad" and it airs at 9:00 and there some episodes of that afterwards
first of all i read the title and thought "wtf...thats sick and wrong"
then i went on MTV.com and searched a little more to see what was really the deal and i got this

QUOTE
Sex may be everywhere in American media, but that doesn't mean American families are talking about it. While most teens could learn a thing or two from talking candidly with their parents about sex. and most parents would benefit greatly from opening up about sex with their kids- it's simply easier said than done. Much, much easier. That is, until Sex .with Mom and Dad.

In each half-hour episode, Dr. Drew Pinsky will help a teen and their parents work through their problems regarding sex, dating and relationships. Maybe a dad is worried that his daughter uses her sexuality to get attention; a son is concerned that ever since he came out of the closet, his parents haven't acted the same towards him; or a son's "ladies man" M.O. has mom worried that sex, and the girls he sleeps with, mean nothing to him.

Whatever the issue, Dr. Drew is certain to get the family talking - often for the very first time - about sex. Initially, the family meets with Dr. Drew in a therapy setting to get the conversation started and pinpoint the family's main issues. At the end of the session, Dr. Drew sends the family on their way with two tasks, tailored specifically to their issues, to get them to open up about their most personal truths and the intimate details of their sex lives. The journey ends with a final therapy session with Dr. Drew, in which the family typically realizes that while the journey was tough, in the end, they were ultimately able to get to know each other and respect each other in a completely new and different way. Shockingly frank, upbeat, and funny, Sex .with Mom and Dad proves that if families can talk about sex, they can talk about anything - ultimately breaking down barriers and improving relationships in the process.

So what do you think of it?

I saw the title of this topic and was like, "WTF? That's a horrible name/premise for a movie." But now that I've read the description for the show, it sounds like something worth checking out. I wish they had this show around a few years ago, cuz my parents NEVER talked to me about sex; my birds and the bees talk with my mom consisted of her giving me a book about puberty.

I guess right now its an ok time for me being 16 and all. Luckuly i can talk to my mom but of course it still feels awkward especially when i was 14 and more curious to know stuff and i was always afraid to see how she would react. Especially, have you (or anyone) noticed that theres been a lot of shows that discuss/show/talk about sex? Like The secret life, and gossip girl and some other shows that i cant remember.

I'm sure the title will draw in a lot of attention, hahaha.

And.. wow, yeah, it is VERY awkward. Mmm.
I don't want my parents to watch this, but it sounds.. somewhat interesting. mellow.gif

The title definitely attracts attention.
I'm not sure whether I'll watch it or not, though.

Is it with the same guy who hosted Celebrity Rehab?

Oh, that actually sounds like an interesting show. But I don't know... MTV tends to take things a few steps closer to cheesy/lame. Meh, I guess we'll see.

In response to Carrie's post, I learned about sex when I was about 6. My sister and I were at the library and rented a movie called "Where Do Babies Come From?" with a picture of a cartoon baby on the cover. We thought it was for children...

But no. It was actually a cartoon movie explaining the process of sex and having children. There were cartoon naked people in their cartoon tubs, and a voice narrating and describing what parts of the human body are involved. My mom just let us watch it because she said we'd find out anyway, but my dad got really mad. xD

That's a different kind of sex talk though.

definetly, when i saw that i was like "wtf kids have sex with there parents O///O?"

but i watched a little of it, it was so-so, interesting at first but then you get bored with it
basically they talk about their sex lives (which must be so awkward)
and then they play a little game revealing to their parents how many people they had sex with

so yeah, i dont know if it will last long

I like it, it's kinda funny. I love the shock on the parents faces when they see how many people their slut offspring have had sex with. Plus, Dr. Drew is pretty sexy.
I think Man & Wife is better though. It's really funny. It's another sex-ed show on MTV.
