I can't find anything to hate about this. The airbrushed skin looks pretty realistically smooth. Awethum makeup. I like the eyebrow trim or whatever, haha. And the background looks great! :]

What method do you use to clear skin, btw?

Wow this is really good! The only criticism I could give is that you don't seem to have smoothed out her neck. It's not that noticeable but it makes her skin on her neck look a lot darker than her face. Other than that it looks fantastic.

Eugh, I always forget about the neck. I think it's because it's so much less important or interesting than the face. Although if you compare the neck/face darkness of the new one to the original, it's the same. So I don't really see...the darkness point. Unless you think it was noticeable in the original too. But thanks!

I love using eyelash brushes, I always do it at the end and marvel at the difference it makes! I use a combination of the patch tool, healing brush, clone, Smart Blur/Surface Blur...etc. I think the important thing is always to do it on new, duplicated layer, so even if you go overboard with blurring, you can always lower the opacity to keep it looking natural. That's why you can still see whatever it is Thomas mentioned about the lips.

lol I like the background too, I usually find that people don't appreciate my use of certain backgrounds/complain about it. And I'm like...it's a retouch/colourization. Please focus on that. Just a pet peeve lols.

I like to use the ones that look like this:


They're usually way too long so then I just erase bits of it with a large brush at 0% Hardness. Oh and of course I have to resize them, use the warp tool, change the proportions of it, etc, to fit her eyes.

I'll do the lashes on a new layer, in black. Then I'll colourize it, first by increasing the lightness to about 50, saturation about 20, and the hue to a brown-ish shade. Then set the new layer to Multiply and adjust either the lightness or opacity to your liking.

It doesn't look realistic to just slap on the brush in straight-up black, since no one has truly grey/black hair with no warmth to it.

Oic. But like, since you have to reduce the size of the eyelash brush, don't you also have to sharpen it a bit? Cause everytime I do it, it gets pixelated and hardly looks like eyelashes anymore.

Reducing the size of the brushes shouldn't pixelate the eyelashes at all, unless you're using some sort of weird resizing technique. The only way I could see something getting pixelated is if you made it bigger. The sizes of these brushes run pretty big.

I don't know, I typically don't pick the perfect brush size and use it. I just generally pick a size bigger than the size I'll need, then just do Ctrl + T and resize from there. It's never really pixellated for me...*shrug*. And even if it was, you can hardly tell anyway.
