yeah see i think i hate photoshop because i'm less familiar with it. i'm the most familiar with In Design becuase that's what i've used the most. Illustrator is pretty similar in layout at least to In Design so it feels more normal. photoshop...i don't know. i guess i don't really understand how to do stuff or even what to do in photoshop.

That's probably why I've never gotten the hang of InDesign or Illustrator. Which is problem - most people who do "graphic design" on the internet nowadays only know of Photoshop. Photoshop is an image-editing software, and should be seen only as such. In reality, InDesign and Illustrator are programs that benefit from the use of Photoshop, but are the core programs needed to actually design something that is functional and effective. That is actual "design", structure and layout, not Photoshop, which could be said to handle the art aspect of everything.

The whole layout of InDesign and Illustrator are sooo foreign to me, even after a whole year of making yearbook layouts.

i use both equally. photoshop more for image editing, illustrator more for actual designing and "illustrating" (vector work).

After Corel, I pretty much work solely with Illustrator (unless all I'm doing is cropping, resizing, etc). I do a lot of illustration and vectoring, therefore Illustrator is for me. I also find Illustrator... easier to work with than Photoshop.

I'm supposed to use both for my graphic design course but I'm mainly using Illustrator.
I think it's a lot easier than Photoshop, too.

Why are you waiting? The only thing Illustrator has over Photoshop is the pen tool; Photoshop can do what Illustrator can, only Illustrator does it better.
