Admissions to those schools are based largely on one's ability to write, though, and I don't think someone making a 390 on the writing section is going to make the cut.

Also, schools probably have better things to do than internet stalk each applicant to see what they might have posted on some random website.

Was that your first time taking an SAT?
Cause if it was- buy a '10 Real SATs' book & start pretending like youre taking the real thing over & over again.. it helps to get a real good idea of what the test is like (don't worry if theyre low.. it doesnt mean youre stupid, it means youre gullible) because the entire test is pretty much tricking you from beginning to end.
I don't have perfect SAT scores but if you don't have a lot of time nor money for a class then try finding a princeton review/kaplan/barron SAT prep book that has like 1000 vocab words & start studying them. it'll help you on the essay & for the reading/writing sections.
Also- it's okay to skip questions.. don't skip like 11 Qs per section but if you want to hit in the high 500s or 600s, skipping 2-3 Qs is ok. when you skip- it counts as a 0 for the question.. which is better cause if you get it wrong then it's -1/4 of a point.

Just curious- were the test taking conditions okay? Like was it too cold or too hot? Did you get sleepy & tired easily? These are all factors that you gotta prepare for~

It's not, haha. It's just over 50%. It [probably] means one person gave me a 3/6 (50%) and the other guy gave me a 4/6 (67%). Which is, uh, pretty bad, especially since I come from a very academically competitive school/community.

Wait, I'm confused.

No way could you have gotten a 680 on the writing/essay portion if you got a 7. I got an 8 on my essay (well, I suck at writing anyways and I was half asleep :P) and I didn't even hit 600. ? How is that possible that you could get a 680 with a 7? A 6 would give you a 400 or something (since 6/12 = 400/800). That makes no sense.

Damn, I wish I retook it - I think I would've done better since I would've been better prepared.

its possible. he could've done super spectacular on the multiple choice. but you would have to get like almost a perfect on the mc to get high score like 680 with a 7 on the essay.

I think I got like a 9 and a 10 on the essay? Don't remember.

No one counted it anyway. They're going to start counting it here next year.

Yeah my essay didn't mean jack shit. I did pretty poorly on it, too. Didn't really start writing well 'til senior year. I think I got 500 points from it, or so.
