Okay, I'm running for President for my school, and I'm asking the great people of cB to give me ideas or concepts for my banner/advertisement/flyers.
Should it be colorful, eye-catching, or plain out simple?

if it were meeee.. i would take a picture of obama, photoshop his head out and put mine in. surefire winner. works every time. |

We had a topic like this a few weeks ago. Some of us suggested creating a vector of yourself. It's hip, people like it. Just a simple one with a few shapes should do it.
Give something for people to remember you by...so don't go too simple. Definitely something with visual impact, which is why a bold graphic is good. |

Vector yourself. Vector graphics are very cool,  and will DEFINITELY catch people's attention.Those Obama ones are pretty impressive and have made their way onto shirts and what not. So. Vector graphics = way to go. *nods* |

Okay, vectoring is a deff. choice. (;
But I have a problem with how the length x width of the banner should be... Does anyone have suggestions or ideas? And since my school colors are blue,white,black, which color should be used the most for artistic reasons..?

Make sure you have bright bright colours though. Like hot pink or those neon like colours. The first thing people will look at posters is something is bright and they will notice colours that just pop out.

No. No brushes and NO NEON COLORS.
Vector yourself. Take a good picture of yourself with good lighting, and do a quicky vector. Use shades of grey/white/black for your skin and blue in the background. |

DUDEUDEUDE, when you make it, make it in very high resolution [300DPI] and print it out on 18x24 paper [at an office supply store]! IT LOOKS SO AWESOMEEEEEEEE ! but it's a bit pricy. [$24 for me] but if your design is good, you'll be praised. [secrettohowiwonahem] I ran for president too, ironically. This girl who ran for treasurer had a great idea, but you're not running for it, so yeah. ): But she had that banksy-inspired/meek-inspired graffiti thing that says "Keep your coins, I want change." ^ I think a higher DPI would be even better for something like a vector that involves crisp shapes and lines...upwards of 600 is good.
