I was first-chair trumpet through middle school and some of high school, and I always hated the tight-knit community aspect that seemed to exist in marching band. I remember after this one show at the end of the year, the whole band gathered in a circle and had this emotional good-bye ceremony for the graduating seniors. I couldn't believe how many people were actually crying. It made me want to throw-up. That's one reason why I drifted away from that and into jazz, even though I'd been in the jazz curriculum alongside marching band since 7th grade.

Now, I shall give fodder to my many enemies on here and shame myself.

I miss my clarinet. I haven't played in almost three years. sad.gif I was in band from 4th grade all the way through high school. I did the usual, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Sax. I don't miss marching band though.

I play clarinet too : D

In 8th grade i was first chair
then my freshman year in the lower band (upper band is for mainly juniors and seniors) i got second chair
then sophmore year i got moved up to the upper band but i was last chair
the music is literally 10x more difficult but i was the only sophmore in my section to move up.

Right now were doing marching band and we have been to about i think 2 competitions so far and we have taken first in them and grand chapion.

Sorry my bragging is done XD but its the only skill i have right now besides sucking at everything else.

I was in Band Class and I immediately switched out.
Wasn't my taste, and the teacher thought people could "Blow" better especially the "Boys." :/
