Just read tutorials and experiment on your own. If you're looking for good tutorials, there are a million of them on here. If you can't find what you're looking for, just google "Photoshop cs3 tutorials." You may not get the best results, but you may find some good sites.

One thing to remember, all of us great designers didn't know Photoshop the first two weeks we had it that well. Be patient, you should get to know the menus and the toolbar and what each tool do and play with them. Some High Schools have classes that teach Photoshop, if you're interested enough sign up for some classes, see if your school offer classes like that and talk to your counselor. |

Your school most likely has some sort of web design program. It probably won't be called "Photoshop Class" or anything like that. Look for ones that have to do with web design and all that jazz.

Not sure what kinda school you go to(ie: community, university)
I'm attending a community college right now, fortunately they have "Introduction to Photoshop", and other apps. But like they've stated above the tutorials on here help a lot, and if there's something specific you want then post it in here. Everyone's really nice(from what I've seen) good luck. |

Definitely engage yourself in some tutorials. The more you do, the better designer you will become. I know it can seem really frustrating at first. You want those awesome graphics NOW! Just be patient and start small. Try doing some icon tutorials to get warmed up. You'll learn some neat coloring techniques that should help you with many different types of Photoshop work. Spend some quality time at dafont or whatever font website you prefer. The more fonts the better (although, I'm a font junkie and it's overwhelming at times ha).
You probably should eventually pay close attention to cropping and blending techniques. Those types of tutorials will really be helpful to you in the long run. |
